Thank you to our amazing Healing Connections alumni for bringing holiday cheer to the barn. They helped clean out stalls, fill water buckets and hang out the Christmas decorations. It means so much to have this group in the barn and supporting our program. 🌲

We are so grateful for the opportunity to help our community with a variety of programs supported by generous donors.

Our generous community has made it possible to host this fundraiser through the holiday season. We hope you will participate.

Not only are there great gifts, but there is also merch and opportunities to support several of our programs.

We offer Eagala-model equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) to children at least 6 years old, adults and families. Clients learn how their behaviors impact their feelings and the feelings of others, while developing skills they need to cope with their individual situation in a hands-on learning environment. EAP helps clients externalize what they are struggling with and have an experience around it, rather than just talking about it. Treatment teams consist of a licensed mental health professional, an equine (horse) specialist and horses/donkeys. These sessions do not involve horseback riding. All activities are on the ground and focused on individual treatment goals.

We call this the CONNECT program. Donations can be made through the auction platform.

Today is special because today is Giving Tuesday. For us this day is like being surrounded by your most caring family and friends because the support for nonprofits all over is celebrated.

Many times we are interacting with people during a very difficult time of their life. We are honored to meet people where they are at in a moment of struggle.

Sometimes this means quiet therapy sessions in our office with only a few words exchanged.

Sometimes it means spending half of the session time standing by the car door with Rusty the donkey and a kid that needs more time.

Other times it means holding a tissue box while a veteran shares something that has never been spoken.

It is our mission to be there with a light on the next step forward in those moments. Every journey through mental illness is unique and we value being able to remove barriers for anyone that needs our services.

Thank you for supporting our mission today and every other day so that we never have to turn away a person in need of mental health services due to financial need. You make our community brighter and healthier.
