Shame is a universal emotion we tend to be ashamed to talk about. Women carry deep levels of shame in their bodies for many reasons. Shame about the size and shape of their bodies. Shame about being physically and sexually abused. Shame about being imperfect mothers. Shame about not doing enough for our parents. Shame about not being able to keep up with work, the house and all the other things we are responsible for. This shame dysregulates our nervous systems and has a negative impact on our relationship with our bodies, food and ourselves. In BFYB we learn that shame arises from the wish to be seen, heard, understood and loved. In BFYB, we begin to ease this shame with forgiveness and self compassion. Imagine if we could meet ourselves with kindness and compassion when shame arises rather than criticism and self punishment. In BFYB we learn to meet shame in a new way. Our Spring BFYB group will be held 8 consecutive Wednesday nights from 7pm - 9pm EST virtually. We will begin to release shame together on April 1, 2026. We would love for you to join us. The mission of Heather’s Healing Kitchen is to support you in having a healthy relationship with food and develop the skills to prepare healing meals that support your mind, body and spirit.
I have fifteen years experience working in a variety of health and counseling settings with adolescents, adults, and families. That professional experience taught me to actively listen, support, and empathize with challenges that face us as we try to live a healthy and happy life.
After a significant health crisis of my own, I took time off to focus on healing my body and mind. Following a holistic approach, I used nutrition, chiropractic, meditation, massage and other natural techniques.
In March 2017, I completed the Health Coach Program at the Institute for Integrated Nutrition. I am now combining my professional and personal experiences to provide you with a supportive environment to heal your body and your mind.
I am well versed in the symptoms of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Using healing foods, stress management, and meditation we will find ways for you to live a more pain-free, energized life. I am also an excellent and creative cook and can teach you how to prepare healthy and healing meals for you and your family.
