There are nutritional and lifestyle choices we can make to ease these symptoms and create balance. Come to our work shop sweaty or wearing layers and we’ll learn how to cool things down together. The Queen’s Circle is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in deep self exploration, healing and connection. Each circle has a different topic that we explore through somatic practices, meditations, mindfulness and other healing tools. Every month we sit in circle around a beautiful sacred altar and support each other by actively listening and holding space for our fellow queens’ emotions, struggles and insights. There is no fixing because we are not broken. There is no advice given because the answers are within us. Each circle has an intentional message that supports us on our healing path individually and collectively. We honor the wisdom of the divine feminine within every woman. This month’s circle is on Saturday Sept. 20 at 9:30am and will focus on embodied movement and supporting our bodies through the seasonal transition emotionally and nutritionally. When we talk about Perimenopause and Menopause we associate it with all the challenges that come along with this change in our lives. In this workshop, Alicia and Heather will focus on the foods that can ease your body through this transition and other tools to support you in feeling stronger, wiser, calmer and cooler.

The mainstream approach to taking care of our bodies is through willpower and diets. The latest research shows that we need to bring the brain/nervous system into the picture when looking at behaviors related to our body and food. Our hunger cues, satiation cues, body image and capacity to change a behavior are all reliant on regulating the nervous system. When we restrict our food, try to stick to impossible diets and overexercise we dysregulate our nervous systems and this keeps us stuck in that loop we often call self sabotage. BFYB is a unique approach in that it focuses on balancing the nervous system so we can hear the signals of our bodies. Our bodies know how to fuel us. Our bodies want us to be kind to them. Our bodies want us to listen to them. Learning to listen to our bodies is what we do in this program. Our next group begins Sept. 24. Registration closes Sept. 12. Please share this important work with anyone you know who may want to create more peace and ease in their relationship with their bodies, food and body image.

Holistic Health Coach

The mission of Heather’s Healing Kitchen is to support you in having a healthy relationship with food and develop the skills to prepare healing meals that support your mind, body and spirit.

I have fifteen years experience working in a variety of health and counseling settings with adolescents, adults, and families. That professional experience taught me to actively listen, support, and empathize with challenges that face us as we try to live a healthy and happy life.

After a significant health crisis of my own, I took time off to focus on healing my body and mind. Following a holistic approach, I used nutrition, chiropractic, meditation, massage and other natural techniques.

In March 2017, I completed the Health Coach Program at the Institute for Integrated Nutrition. I am now combining my professional and personal experiences to provide you with a supportive environment to heal your body and your mind.
