Tree Climbers Genealogy Society accepts new members.
The Tree Climbers Genealogy Society at Pattonsburg is in operation and their doors are open and accepting new members and donations. They are continuing to do research and learn more about Pattonsburg and Daviess County. For more information call, 660-367-4448 or 660-605-0141.
Recently the Daviess County Genealogy Society decided to dissolve.

What's a better way of celebrating Independence Day than to support the History Keepers of your hometown? The Tree Climbers are a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining the historical files of the old town and the residents who lived there. Every contribution helps - pay the rent, keeps the utilities on, and provides a facility where visitors can go to obtain information on the businesses, organizations, churches, graduates, family genealogy and more. No salaries are paid, everyone that assists with the group is volunteering their time and resources. Below are ways that every former resident can help, no matter how old or young you are, no matter how close or far away you live.

1. Joining the organization. The membership fees are minimal, and you'll get the newsletters that are sent out several times each year.

2. Make a Memorial contribution to family that lived there or grew up there, or died there. A list of those remembrances are posted and shared, keeping that loved one alive in our memories.

3. Purchase a history book. Numberous books are available on the history of the old town (there are multiple volumes), the relocation to the new town, information on town and country schools from the area, and multiple volumes on the alumni of PHS(go Panthers). More publications are in the works.

4. Just send a donation via check to the organization at 109 Central Ave., Pattonsburg, MO 64670.

It's been 2 years since our last general fundraising event. That effort put just under $2000 into the Tree Pattonsburg Tree Climbers Genealogy group and has helped keep the organization afloat.
