🔥 OHIO SPRING BURN BAN STARTS TODAY🔥

Beginning March 1 through May 31, open burning is prohibited between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM statewide.

🚫 No burning brush
🚫 No leaves or yard waste
🚫 No trash burning
🚫 No open fires during restricted hours

Even if you think conditions look safe — it’s not okay to burn during these hours. The law applies to everyone.

Spring conditions — dry grass, wind, and low humidity — allow fires to spread extremely fast. What starts as a small burn pile can quickly become a field fire, woods fire, or threaten nearby homes and barns.

Let’s do our part to protect our community and keep our firefighters out of preventable situations.

Spring to bring all-way stops to eight northwest Ohio intersections
"These intersections have a higher rate of angle crashes, which often result in serious injuries or fatalities," said Chris Hughes, ODOT District 1 deputy director. “Our goal is zero fatalities. When all approaches are expected to stop, crash severity is significantly reduced," he said.

There will be specific resources for unit leaders and volunteers, speaker series, and access to exercises and tip sheets.
