January is Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month: Healing Begins at the Osage Nation Counseling Center
Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of accessible, compassionate, and culturally grounded care. At the Osage Nation Counseling Center, healing is approached with understanding, dignity, and respect for the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and community. Substance use disorder affects individuals and families across generations, and recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. ONHS remains committed to meeting people where they are and supporting them every step of the way.
A cornerstone of these efforts is the Osage Nation Primary Residential Treatment (PRT) Center, a 90-day residential program designed specifically for Native Americans with a CDIB. Located on the new Osage Nation Counseling Campus, the PRT Center offers separate facilities for men and women and integrates culturally based healing approaches alongside evidence-based treatment. Clients receive structured support in a safe environment that encourages accountability, connection, and long-term wellness.
The Counseling Center recognizes that recovery is not just about ending substance use; it is about rebuilding lives. Services emphasize cultural identity, community connection, and traditional values, while also addressing mental health, trauma, and behavioral health needs. By honoring culture as a source of strength, the Osage Nation Counseling Center helps individuals reconnect with themselves, their families, and their purpose.
During Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month, ONHS encourages community members to remember that help is available, and recovery is possible. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or someone you love, the Osage Nation Counseling Center is here to listen, support, and walk alongside you on the path to healing. No one has to face recovery alone.
