Feeling great!!! As an aviator, visual acuity cannot be sacrificed. Now a 4 Bar Captain, this pilot has entrusted his eyewear needs to me since 1994. As to his sunglasses, this color provided him with the ideal definition needed such that "WE" saved 143 lives descending into the Beijing Airport during a monsoon.

Hello again! I got a few messages from my last post, and thought I'd share ~~ maybe you were wondering:
1. Do you carry the big brands names? No...I don't. MANY years ago, we could equate a brand name with excellent quality...sadly, that's not the case any more...so now, the price is high price, but the quality is low. I work with companies that continue to manufacture frames as they have in the past -- better price, better quality.
2. How long does it take to get my glasses? Typically 2-4 business days. Some specialty work takes a little longer.
3. Do you accept insurances / vision care plans? No, I don't (see the graphic on my website for better understanding). I do my best to offer lower prices every day, to everyone, whether you have a plan or not --- and provide itemized receipts for out of network reimbursement...which, in many cases, will result in lower out of pocket expenses and better quality frame and lenses.
4. Will you put lenses in my old frame, or a frame I bought online? Yes! I have put lenses in old frames, VERY inexpensive frames, frames bought at thrift store :) As long as they a structurally sound, I'll do it!
5. Do you sell blue light lenses? Yes, I do....however...I have not found enough white paper research that shows that blue light emitted from a computer is of much consequence. As told to me by one lens manufacturer: spending 15 minutes outside on a sunny day is equivalent to several hours on a computer. My opinion, save the money...if you're not sure, buy a blue light filtering screen protector for your computer instead. Besides...many of the blue light coatings sold are not very durable. Still want them? I can get them :)

New customer, high prescription: +12.00D. Dark brown frames done cheaply online. Light brown frames done with significantly thinner lenses and premium anti refection coating (can't see coating from these views). Yes, it did cost more, but the optics are much better. Regarding anti-REFLECTION coating: light that is REFLECTED off the surface of the lens are light rays that are not making it into the eye...so visual acuity is decreased. Anti reflection coatings are not for everyone...it's something that I take the time to discuss with every patient :)

Interesting read in the optician's group I belong to! I have been providing tinted lenses since opening in 2006. Fashion tints (blue, lavender), therapeutic tints (FL41), functional tints for night driving / shooting (yellow, amber), and sunglass tints (gray, brown, green) --- and every color in between! Work is done in house, so no long waits!

A little about me :)
- I LOVE being an optician (I had the world's best mentor, 1987)!
- I'm all about doing the right thing...not just making the sale
- I'll put lenses in frames that other places won't touch (saving you $!)
- I prefer to work by appointment to give each person their own time
- I don't wear fancy clothes...lab work can be dirty stuff :)
- No manicures for me...chemicals will ruin them in short time...true working hands :)
- I always try answer the phone, and if I'm busy, I'll call you back. I know I hate leaving voicemails, wondering when I'll get a call back. Yes, sometimes I can't pick up on a call waiting, but you'll hear from me very soon after.
