Chelsea Jewish Lifecare's North Shore Campus includes the Jeffrey & Susan Brudnick Center for Living (Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation and Memory Care), the Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center, and the Harriett & Ralph Kaplan Estates (Traditional and Memory Care Assisted Living Residences). Additionally, Chelsea Jewish Aging Life Care (formerly geriatric care management) is serving seniors and the disabled of the North Shore.

Supporting Our Heroes Through Operation Gratitude

Residents of Harriet & Ralph Kaplan Estates recently took part in a meaningful Operation Gratitude card-writing activity. Operation Gratitude sends thousands of care packages each year to our nation’s military members and first responders—each one filled with notes, letters, cards, and colorful drawings reminding those who serve that “WE CARE!”

This enriching activity was led by Jennifer Ferringo, COTA/Community Liaison, and Laurie Faria, Activities Assistant, from Legacy Lifecare VNA & Hospice. Through this purposeful engagement, residents were able to incorporate visual-motor integration, dexterity, and strength while creating heartfelt messages of appreciation.

We are proud to support such an impactful initiative and grateful to our residents for sharing their kindness with those who protect and serve.

A Lunchtime Serenade at Brudnick Center for Living

Our long-term care residents enjoyed a special treat during their lunch hour! We were delighted to welcome Sheila Vitale, whose beautiful violin performance filled the room with warmth and joy.

The residents at Harriet & Kaplan Estates participated in an informative Infection control and flu season presentation. This was presented by Jennifer Ferringo COTA/Clinical Liaison and Ginett DiMaggio RN from Legacy Lifecare VNA & Hospice. The residents were educated on how to prevent cold and flu , proper handwashing, and infection control.

Earlier this fall, the Harriet & Kaplan Estates Traditional and Legacy units participated in a wonderful activity that celebrates the beauty of the fall and Sukkot. Several herbs and flowers from our gardens were incorporated to make beautiful sachets and decorative mini tweed brooms. Garland was also made by the residents and was hung on the Sukkah. This events was lead by Jennifer Ferringo COTA/Clinical Liasion from Legacy Lifecare VNA, Laurie Farria & Madison Muszynski from Kaplan Estates Activities Department.

Honoring Our Veterans at Brudnick Center for Living

Our Adult Day participants and Brudnick Center for Living residents came together for a heartfelt Veterans Day celebration. We were honored to welcome the Lynn English ROTC, who performed an impressive demonstration, and nursing students from Northeastern Regional Vocational School, who recited touching poems for our residents.

It was a meaningful morning filled with gratitude, connection, and recognition for those who have bravely served our country.

In October, Legacy Lifecare VNA celebrated Physical Therapy Month!
We celebrated our wonderful Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants who play an important role in helping residents regain strength, mobility, balance, and confidence.

Earlier this month, residents and staff at Brudnick Center for Living took part in our regularly scheduled MASS MAP Emergency Preparedness Training sessions.

These trainings ensure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency—from safe evacuation procedures to effective communication and teamwork.

Brudnick Center for Living Hosts 2nd Annual Crafts Fair

The Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center for Living was buzzing with joy and creativity on Sunday, October 19, as residents, families, staff, and neighbors came together for our Second Annual Crafts Fair — a now-beloved tradition!

Highlights from the Day:
• Nearly 500 attendees filled the halls with laughter and connection.
• 30 local vendors — including staff, family members, and community artisans — showcased their incredible handmade goods.
• The fair raised over $5,000, all benefiting resident activities and enrichment programs!

From crocheted hats and lace villages to wooden creations, candles, jewelry, and homemade treats, there was truly something for everyone. Beyond the beautiful crafts, the heart of the day was our shared mission: supporting meaningful experiences for our residents.

A huge thank-you to our Activity Director Nancy Bekel, Food Service Manager Sally Little, and every vendor, volunteer, and visitor who helped make this year’s fair a success.

We’re already dreaming up ideas for next year’s Crafts Fair — and can’t wait to see you there!

Our amazing Dietary Teams at Kaplan Estates and Brudnick Center for Living enjoyed a delicious lunch from Amigo’s Peabody — a beautiful taco bar with all the fixings!

We’re so grateful for everything our dietary staff do each day to nourish, care for, and brighten the lives of our residents. Thank you for all that you do!
