National Wear Red Day on the Peabody Campus!

February brought a sea of red and a powerful show of support for heart health across the Peabody Campus. Andrea Hillel, Executive Director of Harriett & Ralph Kaplan Estates, joined staff and residents from the Legacy and Traditional units in wearing red to raise awareness for cardiovascular health and to support women’s health.

In addition to the festivities, a blood pressure clinic and cardiovascular education were provided by Legacy Lifecare VNA & Hospice nursing and therapy staff — reinforcing the importance of prevention, education, and proactive care.

The celebration extended to Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center, where Eleanor Langstaff, Executive Director, along with staff and clients, proudly joined in wearing red to support heart health awareness.

A wonderful day of unity, education, and commitment to healthy hearts!

Purim Creativity in Action at Harriett & Ralph Kaplan Estates!

Residents in our Legacy Units had a wonderful time decorating festive masks in celebration of Purim. The class was led by Jennifer Ferringo, Occupational Therapy Assistant and Clinical Liaison with Legacy Lifecare VNA, who brought the perfect blend of fun and function to the activity.

Through this hands-on project, residents strengthened fine motor skills, eye–hand coordination, dexterity, precision, and cognition — all while expressing their creativity and celebrating together.

The joy was contagious — even several staff members joined in the fun! Moments like these remind us that therapy can be both purposeful and playful.
