When spring arrives in TCM, the Liver system awakens. This system governs:
🌿 Movement of Qi and blood
🌿 Emotional flow and stress regulation
🌿 Vision, planning, and creativity

That’s why spring often brings a natural urge to clean, organize, move your body, and make plans. It’s not willpower — it’s biology.

Chinese New Year on February 17, 2026 marks the energetic turning point when your body becomes more receptive to change, healing, and growth.

Embrace the change!

✨ What does this mean for you?
2026 is a year to embrace momentum and change, but like fire, this energy works best when balanced. Rest, reflection, and self-care will help you channel this powerful energy without burning out.

Think of it as the perfect time to set intentions, start new projects, and move toward your goals — with passion, clarity, and confidence.

“Spring comes and the grass grows by itself” — align with the seasons, and let the Fire Horse carry you forward.

2026 marks the Year of the Fire Horse, one of the most dynamic and energetic years in the Chinese zodiac. In Chinese culture, the Horse symbolizes freedom, vitality, ambition, and forward momentum — a powerful energy for movement, growth, and new beginnings.

Paired with the Fire element, this year brings:
🌟 Passion and enthusiasm – the drive to take bold steps forward
🌟 Creativity and inspiration – fresh ideas and new projects flourish
🌟 Courage and independence – the confidence to break free from old patterns
🌟 Social energy – connection, leadership, and collaboration

Spring energy doesn’t just affect your body — it affects your emotions.

In TCM, the Liver system also governs emotional flow. When spring energy is balanced, we feel:
🌿 Motivated
🌿 Clear-headed
🌿 Emotionally flexible
🌿 Optimistic

When blocked, we may feel:
⚠️ Irritable
⚠️ Stuck
⚠️ Overwhelmed
⚠️ Tense

Chinese New Year is the perfect time to support emotional wellness — and acupuncture is one of the most powerful tools to restore flow.

Journaling is one of the most powerful — and underrated — tools for healing and clarity. ✍️✨

In both modern psychology and Chinese Medicine, writing helps move stuck emotions, calm the nervous system, and create space between stress and response. It supports emotional flow, improves sleep, reduces anxiety, and strengthens your connection to your body’s wisdom.

You don’t need perfect words — just honest ones. A few minutes a day can bring more clarity, balance, and peace than you might expect. Here are three prompts to help you find clarity in the coming week:

As winter begins to soften and spring energy approaches, this is a beautiful time to reflect — not rush. 🌱
Instead of forcing change, ask yourself:

“What am I ready to grow this season?”
“What part of my life is asking for more care, attention, or energy right now?”
“What kind of nourishment does my body need most right now?”

Not what you should do. Not what you must fix. But what feels ready to emerge naturally — in your body, your heart, or your life.

Growth doesn’t require force. It requires space, nourishment, and the right season. ✨

May this bring you peace and clarity in the days ahead.

Did you know that Black leaders played a vital role in shaping modern acupuncture in the U.S.? 🖤

In the 1970s, Dr. Mutulu Shakur helped establish one of the first community acupuncture clinics in Harlem, making holistic care more accessible and community-centered — a legacy that continues to influence how acupuncture is practiced today.

Honoring Black history means honoring healing, access, and community wellness.

Most of us try to start fresh on January 1 — but our bodies are still in winter mode.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese New Year marks the true beginning of spring, when energy begins to rise, light returns, and momentum becomes natural instead of forced. In 2026, this shift happens on February 17.

Winter is meant for rest and restoration. Spring is meant for growth and movement. When we align our goals with this natural rhythm, change feels easier, more sustainable, and more supportive.

Ever wonder why January resolutions feel so hard to keep? ❄️
It’s not a lack of motivation — it’s timing.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is meant for rest, reflection, and conservation of energy. Nature slows down, seeds lie dormant beneath frozen ground, and our bodies are biologically wired to do the same. When we try to force big changes, intense workouts, or major lifestyle overhauls during this season, it can feel exhausting, frustrating, and unsustainable.

Instead of pushing, winter is the perfect time to restore, reflect, and clarify what you truly want — without pressure.

That’s why we created a free Winter Intention & Spring Reset Guide to help you align with your body’s natural rhythm, conserve your energy now, and build real momentum when spring arrives.

✨ Change doesn’t need to be forced — it can be seasonal, supportive, and sustainable.

Download the guide and start working with your body, not against it. 🌱

Our Story

Like many of you, I had back pain, sciatica, loads of work related stress, and felt really out of sorts. I tried conventional medicine, and got pain pills which I hated because they made me feel even more out of it. I tried chiropractic, and while that helped some with the back pain, it would always come back and did nothing to address the stress and out-of-sortsness. I even had surgery when I no longer had cartilage in my SI joint. And while that helped too, I was left with a reduced range of motion and when the weather changed, I'd feel like my hip would explode. That's when I found Acupuncture. It was a huge help all the way around! I have less pain, am able to handle stress better and feel more balanced.

Fast forward a few years and I was offered a retirement package as part of a merger at the large airline where I worked (you know the one). I was an IT executive tiring of the corporate world, needing a change and this was my ticket out. I had grand plans to travel the world and figure out what I wanted to do with my life when my father called to tell me he had been diagnosed with cancer. My plans immediately changed and I went to take care of him in South Georgia. It was my search for healing for my Dad that led me to get certified as a Nutrition Consultant, and then to yoga for my own healing from the stress and anxiety that being a caregiver can bring. As I repeatedly expressed my desire to do something different to my Acupuncturist, he told me about a Chinese Medicine school in the mountains of North Carolina. “Hmmmm” I said, and off to North Carolina I went to check it out. LOVED IT! I enrolled and went back to school at age 49 ¾. Four years later I graduated with a Masters degree in Acupuncture. I haven't looked back. It was probably one of the best decisions I have made.
