This month is National Minority Health Month. Health equity begins with understanding. For National Minority Health Month, we're highlighting the importance of language access. When patients can't communicate with providers in their primary language, outcomes suffer. Quality care requires cultural and linguistic competence.
Minority communities are disproportionately located near industrial sites and areas with poor air quality. This isn't a coincidence; it's environmental racism. Today, we advocate for clean air and water for all as a fundamental health right.
Patients often feel safer and better understood when their providers share their background. To achieve minority health equity, we must invest in the pipeline of BIPOC doctors, nurses, and researchers. Representation is medicine. "

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we remember that women’s history is being made every day in our clinics, labs, and homes. Our commitment to gender equity doesn't end today. It’s the foundation of a healthier world for all. Closing the gaps in maternal health, pain management, and clinical research is a lifelong mission. Let’s carry this momentum forward to ensure that the healthcare systems of tomorrow truly serve every woman, every day.

Let's talk about Women in Clinical Trials and The Gender Gap in Data. For decades, clinical trials excluded women, leading to treatments that weren't optimized for female physiology. We are closing the data gap to ensure medicine works for every body.

Let's address Mental Health & The Double Burden. Women still perform the majority of unpaid caregiving work, leading to higher rates of burnout and mental health struggles. Health equity means supporting the mental well-being of those who care for everyone else.

I’m proud to share that I am part of the Inner Circle with NOWINCLUDED.

This community is dedicated to ensuring that every voice is heard in healthcare, especially among communities that have historically been underrepresented in clinical research and health conversations. As someone who is deeply committed to advancing health equity and increasing representation in clinical trials, this mission strongly aligns with my work and passion.

NOWINCLUDED creates a safe and supportive space where people can share their health stories, connect with others, and access resources that help them navigate their health journeys with confidence.

I invite you to learn more and join the community here:

Why does it take an average of 7-10 years to diagnose endometriosis? Conditions that primarily affect women are historically under-funded and under-researched. We are advocating for research equity.

In honor of Women's History Month, let's address the mortality gap. The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations, and for Black women, the risk is 3x higher. This isn't a biological failure; it’s a systemic one. We need birth equity now.

In honor of Women's History Month, let's talk about clinical gaslighting and the dismissal of women's pain. Studies show that women wait longer in ERs and are less likely to be prescribed effective pain medication than men. 'Clinical gaslighting' is a real barrier to health equity. It’s time to listen to women.
