On Friday, September 19, 2025, Etienne Nemour Maurin Jr. passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family in Mandeville, Louisiana at the age of 88. He was a humble man of God who loves the Lord, his family, and our country. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially attending his grandchildren's ball games.
"Nemour" was born and raised in Reserve, Louisiana. He graduated from Leon Godchaux High School where he became a record-setting all-star athlete, earning him the nickname “Horse". He attended the University of Louisiana in Lafayette on a football scholarship majoring in general business. Nemour also served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era. He met his precious wife Mary on the train ride back from following his services in the military.
Mr. Maurin is survived by his children Jimmy Maurin and Brenda Maurin Granier, his brother Paul (Yvonne) Maurin, his grandchildren; Gabrielle Landry, Matthew Granier Jr., Skyler (Lily) Granier, Hunter Granier and a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends. He is now rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and savior, reunited with his parents Etienne Maurin Sr., and Delma Daigle Maurin, his wife Mary Louise Areaux Maurin, his daughter Mary Ann Maurin (Steve) Landry, his siblings John (June) Maurin, Charlene Maruin (Robert) LeBlanc, and his granddaughter Kayla Landry.
A celebration of life to honor his memory will be held on Wednesday November 12th 2025
at 10:00 a.m. visitation 11:00 a.m. service Glory Church Slidell. 2170 Gause Blvd. W suite 121 Slidell, Louisiana 70460.
A military burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery 101 Memorial Dr. Biloxi, Mississippi 3953.1

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Brad Jude Fals, of Pearl River, LA passed on to be with our Lord at the age of 72. He was a faithful member of Journey Fellowship Church for many years, and he loved going to car shows and displaying his 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1. His vibrant presence will be missed greatly by all he leaves behind. Brad is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Margie Fals, his sons; Chase Gerard Fals, Corey Jude Fals, and Brad Jude Fals, Jr., his nephew that he also considered one of his sons Al Louis Dauth, his in laws, Mary Hooge (Keith) and Kris Dauth, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Bonnie and Henry Fals, Jr. May his soul rest in peace and his light still shine down on Earth. Funeral services for Brad will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:30 am with visitation from 10 am until service time from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River, LA 70452. On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Billy Steve Kieff, lifelong resident of Violet, LA, passed away at the young age of 58. Billy was a man who loved golfing, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He was the owner of Kieff’s Roofing. He is survived by his twins Logan Matthew Kieff and Stevie Lynn Kieff, his siblings; Ed Kieff, Wanda Cardell, Rhonda Kieff, Lala Kieff, Wade Kieff, and Melissa Kieff, and two dear friends who were more like brothers Felix Nunez and John Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ginny Kieff, and his siblings Roy Kieff and Brenda Hodges. He will be missed greatly by all of those who loved him. Memorial Services for Steve will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 12 pm to 4 pm with the service starting at 2:30 pm from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River, LA 70452. In Lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the funeral home to help cover final expenses.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, William "Bill" Baker, II, age 64 of Slidell, LA, passed away while doing what he loved: fishing. Bill was a man full of life with a great sense of humor and a lifelong love of being in nature. He worked as a Wildlife Nuisance Control Agent and a self-contractor for many years, and he was known in the film industry for his work on movie sets as a snake wrangler. Bill loved fishing, hunting, and collecting different artifacts, especially arrowheads, and to most people who knew him, he was a good ol’ Bayou Boy. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Baker; his children, Dylan Baker (Nikki), Sarah Baker, Daniel Baker, Caleb Baker (Keely Scott), Kailyn Walls (E.J.), Jennifer Baker Fell (Scott), and Skyler Baker (Zach Neagle); his grandchildren, Trista, Evan, Justin, Kolston, Kason, Brooklyn, Adalyn, and Quill; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Aurora; siblings, Connie Styer, Brenda St. Duran, and Leon Baker; his former wife and mother of 5 of his children, Linda Baker; brother-in-laws, Rob and Rick Oliver; nephew and niece, Logan and Sarah Oliver; and his beloved dog, Willow. He is now reunited with his parents, Edgar and Alice Baker, and his granddaughter, Pyrrha. Although his time on Earth was cut short, his life will always be remembered and cherished by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 1pm-2pm with his memorial service beginning at 2 pm in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River, LA 70452

Donna Eden Chartier, age 72, of Pearl River, LA moved on to her eternal home with Jesus on Saturday, September 27, 2025. She passed away doing what she loved most; being on vacation with her loving and devoted husband Frank Chartier. She led a life filled with love, as she always had her fur babies nearby and always had a kind word to say. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt to all who knew and loved her. Her soft-spoken and gentle demeanor reflected her loving ways beyond anything words could describe. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. But her battle was won and her work on earth was done, and it was her time for God to ease her suffering and beckon her home. Great comfort is taken knowing she is reunited with all her beautiful fur babies that that she loved so much.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Frank Chartier Jr., her children Robin Chartier and Frank Chartier III, her sister Colleen Hurst, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her fur baby Millie Lou, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is now rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and reunited with her parents Thomas Eden and Marquerite Eden and her sister BJ Francis.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Pearl River Methodist Church, 65480 Hwy 41, Pearl River, LA 70452 on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with visitation starting at 1 pm and a service to follow at 2 pm. Everyone is invited to come and help honor her life with the family.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Jay Warren Hatley, Sr., age 60 of Pearl River, LA passed away unexpectedly. Jay was an avid outdoorsman who sought refuge and peace through hunting white tail deer. He took pride in everything he did and enjoyed working with his Brazos Forrest products family. He was an amazing father and grandfather who’s larger than life personality will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his children Kimberly Fisher (Jimmy) and Jay Hatley Jr. (Ashley), his siblings Marie Williams, Kenneth Hatley, and Patricia Ferguson, grandchildren; James Fisher IV, Cora Fisher, Brently Hatley, and Blair Hatley, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Morris and Mary Alice Hatley and his brother Roy Hatley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11 am with visitation from 10 am until service time from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River, LA. Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pearl River, LA.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Deborah Faciane Luther, age 75 of Slidell, LA passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and friends. Deby found joy in music, cherished her collectibles, and loved traveling—especially just driving around and taking spontaneous day trips with family and friends. But above all, what she treasured most were the names that reflected the deep connections she held: daughter, Sista!, wife, momma, aunt, Ma Ma, Nonnie, Day, Ma Ma Sweetheart, Ma Ma Day, cousin and friend. Each name was a testament to the love she gave and received throughout her life.
She is survived by her children Brandee Krieger (Kelly), Natasha Luther, Sherry Smith (Chad), and Jessica McMillan (Tyler), grandchildren; Ashley Krieger (Kirsten), Jillian Krieger, Elijah Krieger, Heather Clack, Katie Luther, Kole Smith (Jenna), Kayla Smith, and Olivia McMillian, great grandchildren; Brody Clack, Beckett Clack, Harley Lever, Matthew Lever, and Jude Smith, daughter in law Marylin Luther, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Herman Luther, Sr., her parents Joseph and Dorothy Faciane, her son Kenneth Luther, Jr., granddaughter Kristen Dunaway, great granddaughter Nora Smith, and her siblings Everest Faciane, Beverly Cocran, Kirby Faciane, and Michael Faciane.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Douglas “Chase” Craddock of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away tragically at the age of 31.
Chase was a longtime resident of Pearl River, Louisiana, before relocating to Pass Christian to care for a his Grandmother.
He was deeply devoted to his faith, serving the Lord at Evans Creek Baptist Church in Pearl River. Chase participated in mission trips to Peru and other locations, sharing his commitment and compassion with those he met.
Professionally, Chase was a personal trainer, as well as a bodybuilder and weight lifter. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers, attending concerts, and embracing new adventures. Chase was known for his loving and caring nature, always willing to help anyone in need. He also had a passion for Anime and Pokémon.
Chase is survived by his father, Mark Craddock; four brothers, Kirk Craddock, Clay Combel, Mark Craddock, and Coy Combel; his sister, Michelle Braud; and his grandmother, Beverly Craddock. He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxanna Delaughter; grandparents, Charles Delaughter, Kathy Delaughter, and Douglas Craddock.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at True Life Church, 62160 Airport Rd., Slidell, Louisiana, at 2:00 PM. Pastor Clay Combel will officiate the service.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, Chong “Sukie” Black, age 75 of Westwego, LA, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord in the comfort of her own home. She loved gardening from which she had an amazing green thumb, enjoyed watching butterflies and loved the color purple. She had a chilli pepper personality, but would do anything for the ones she loved. She will be missed greatly. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her fiancé Lee Couvillion, her children Shana Pizzuto (Chris) and Jeffery Black, her grandchildren CJ and Dakota Pizzuto, and 6 siblings. Funeral services for Sukie will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11 am with visitation from 10 am until service time at Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River, LA. Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Jimmie Black. Brother Danny Williams to be officiating.

On Wednesday September 17, 2025, Betty Tidwell Jones, of Pearl River, La. went home to be with the Lord at the age of 73.
She was a member of Pearl Hickory Baptist Church in Pearl River, La. She had a fondness for collecting small bells, cherishing them as her hobby. Above all, Betty treasured spending time with her family, loving them deeply and always ensuring that everyone was cared for.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her husband of 45 years, Johnny M. Jones, 3 children, Eddie Andrew Hoyt (Jamie), Timothy John Hoyt and Shonda Marinell Jones, a sister, Carolyn Gautreaux, 5 Grandchildren, Alexis Hoyt, Skylar Guillary (Austin), Sean Jones (Megan), Cody Al-Naziat and Destiny Davis. She is also survived by 4 Great-grandchildren, Aeris Stapleton, Eden Stapleton and Nathan & Nicholas Guillary and a host of Nieces and Nephews whom she loved dearly.
Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Joye Tidwell, Sr., 3 brothers, Henry Tidwell, Jr., Jessie Tidwell and Dennis Tidwell and 2 sisters, Melinda Howell and Edith Holifield.
The family of Mrs. Betty extends heartfelt gratitude to St. Helena Nursing Home in Greensburg, Louisiana, for the compassionate care they provided to Betty over the past year.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, Sherry Lynn Joles Keller passed away at the age of 59.
Sherry cherished spending time in her garden and found joy in nurturing its beauty.
She is survived by her two children, Cody Brown and Colby Brown; her sister, Bonnie Lou Parker; two brothers, James O’Neal Joles and Marty Joles; and her granddaughter, Ruby Brown. Sherry also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Keller, and her parents, James and Helen Paulene Garrett (Pops).
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
