On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Larry Gilbert Bennett, of Pearl River, LA passed on peacefully to be with our Lord at the age of 85. He was a man of many talents, proudly serving our country at a young age in the United States Airforce, then going on to put his skills to work as a carpenter, training horses as well as shoeing horses, driving the school bus for the public school system, and even owning and running his own feed store known as Hickory Feed. He was a master at all his hobbies, including hunting, fishing, watching his sports on tv, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and cheering on his great grandchildren at all of their sporting events and then sitting down to a good pot of red beans and rice with is family.
Larry was a very loving and caring man whos’ presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by the love of his life for 65 years Mrs. Betty Andrews Bennett, his two beautiful daughters Deborah Ann Bennett Moring (David) and Brenda Bennett Menefee, 7 amazing grandchildren; Shianne Menefee (Daniel), Ashley Gioe (Tyler), Lori Menefee, Amber Menefee (Anthony), Michael Menefee, Austin Moring, and Cameron Moring, his 9 precious great grandchildren that made his world light up; Madisyn, Jacob, Tyler, Nash, Zariya, Amany, Tanner, Sara, and DJ, and a host of nieces and nephews.
