So, sort of a dad post this week,
This last week I came home from the boat and in 4 days had repairs and estimates for upcoming repairs/projects totalling over 6k.
Wednesday morning started with a Broken garage spring was $724,
Next was Saturday afternoon with water pouring out of a light fixture, this turned out to be a backed up drain for the air condition in the attic. The a/c company had installed a chlorine pod thing and that part( which i didnt know was up there and that I should've been putting chlorine ppds in it for the last 12 yrs leaked, but it also allowed the blocked drain water to leak instead of flowing back to the emergency pan and secondary drain.
That was $468.
12 hrs later the same a/c unit shut off backed up again and we had to call out a plumber this time to the tune of $4300. Next we need the ceiling painted and kilz primer before it starts to mold. About $800.
We had been planning to have some cracks on our brick repaired this yr, that will be between $1500-$2000.
Now the good news, I got my annual bonus and Income tax return coming so those two almost cover the unexpected cost.
So for this week, my heart is heavy with financial stress and I need to just give it all to GOD.
My statement for this week, be prepared, make a saving account and be accountable for it.
Keep a credit card with a low or zero balance for emergencies.
These are things I think add to us being responsible dads.
What say you??
Let's talk about it.
