This Veterans Day, we remember and honor the sacrifices veterans gave for our country.

Our NAMI Staff and HelpLine volunteers are off to commemorate this day - but support is still here for you. If you are a military service member, contact the Military Helpline. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or visit chat.988lifeline.org

Visit nami.org/homefront to learn about additional resources for veterans and their families.

TOO MANY SUNDAYS

Too many Sundays have been darkened by the dreaded presence of Monday, looming in like a storm cloud of anxiety and fear.
Sunday is your gift, your day to recharge, your freedom.
Be protective of that time.
Monday has its space enough, do not let it overstep its mark.
Make your plans, prepare, then push Monday back into its box and let Sunday shine forth like the jewel it is.
You deserve this day of soul rest.
You work tirelessly my friends.
Life is not a chore to be dealt with, it’s to be lived.
You’re here to live.
And Sunday is a day for doing exactly what your heart desires.

Happy Earth Day! Today is an important day to remember that spending time in nature is linked to improvements in mood and overall emotional well-being. It’s no surprise that exposure to nature has been known to reduce anger, fear, and stress. 🌳🌱

The cold, winter months can take a toll on mental health. To boost your wellness this season, consider the following tips:

▪️ Stay active - Exercise can temper feelings of anxiety and depression. Bundling up and going for a walk may help reduce your stress.

▪️ Protect your physical health - Eating well, drinking more water, getting enough sleep, and taking regular showers are basic measures you can take to remain physically well as the winter stretches on.

▪️ Socialize – Connect safely in person or virtually with family and friends. Maintaining a healthy social life can greatly affect the way we feel.

▪️ Take breaks – Stressors come in many different forms. Stepping away from news, social media, and even certain responsibilities can allow for a more focus in other areas and time to recharge.
