Calendula Officinalis
Aka Marigold
Those beautiful perennial flowers in the aster/daisy family that we see everywhere!!
You get them for a few dollars for a 4 or 6 pack at the garden center, often sold as annuals because some don’t know they are wonderfully persistent perennials that are kinda hard to kill (at least in Colorado). Not only do these wonderful flowers look gorgeous, they are also used medicinally! It’s used in tea, infused in oil, as salves, compresses, or poultices. This plant is so versatile!! One of my favorites, actually!!! As a poultice, this herb can be used for skin rashes, sunburn, acne, minor cuts and scratches, bites, and skin irritations. Calendula is anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and anti-bacterial. It’s also anti-aging and great for collagen production. Other great uses are for muscle spasms, ulcers, hemorrhoids, stomach and intestinal issues/diseases, stimulating the immune and lymphatic system, PMS, inhibits cancer due to its anti-inflammatory properties, as well as liver and gallbladder detox.
I use this herb in a couple different teas that I sell. Cancer fighter being one of them.
Now, I have calendula tincture! Take this tincture daily to help your body fight infections, especially now that school is back in! We all know how this time of year, everyone starts getting sick. Come fall/winter, even those of us without kids will be sick! This tincture will help with that.
I have calendula tincture in alcohol based, glycerin based, and apple cider vinegar based.
Each 2 ounce bottle is $20
