Progress update from Adventure Ahead Farm Fowl Rescue:

Today was a big step forward on the new coops and sleeping quarters. We got more walls finished, flooring down, and things are finally starting to look like real shelter instead of just frames and plans.

These will help us safely house the birds for summer while we begin renovating the original barn. Every board, panel, and screw is one step closer to better shelter, better organization, and a better setup for the birds in our care.

We still have a lot of work ahead, but seeing real progress on these buildings feels good.

Thank you to everyone cheering us on, following along, and supporting Adventure Ahead Farm Fowl Rescue. This is how big projects come together — one hard-working day at a time.

Yesterday was a big day here.

We officially started building the new barn/coops that will house the birds for the summer while we renovate the original barn. This has needed to happen for a while, so it feels really good to finally get moving on it.

There is still a long way to go, but this is the kind of work that makes a real difference here—safer housing, better setup, and a stronger future for the birds in our care.

Nothing around here happens overnight, but we are making progress.

Thank you for following along and supporting what we do here at Adventure Ahead Farm Fowl Rescue. We will keep sharing updates as this project comes together.

I’m in the final stages of writing The Intuitive Homesteader’s Egg Book — a practical, no-fluff guide to using farm eggs all year.

If you’ve ever stood in the kitchen with a basket of eggs and thought:
“What do I do with ALL of these?”
—or—
“Why do I only have three eggs in winter?”
…this book is for you.

It’s coop to kitchen: handling, storage, preservation, and the kind of recipes that actually help you use eggs up (not just one egg at a time).

Now I want to include YOUR best egg recipes in the book.
Drop your tried-and-true recipe in the comments, message me or email adventureaheadllc@gmail.com

✅ If I choose your recipe, I’ll credit you in the book with your name + state.

Thank you for helping me make this the most useful homestead egg guide out there. 🥚🤍

If you want your recipe considered, please include:

Recipe title
Ingredients + amounts
Directions (temp + time if baked)
How many eggs it uses
Your name + state exactly how you want it printed
By submitting, you’re giving permission for me to edit for clarity and publish it with credit.

Just a quick update from us here at Adventure Ahead Farm Fowl Rescue.

For the past month and a half, our household has been dealing with Influenza A, norovirus, and now seasonal allergies. It has been one thing after another, and while all of that has been going on, we have still been caring for the rescue, working on spring garden setup, and trying to keep everything going while sick ourselves.

If you contacted us about eggs or intake and did not hear back, that is why. We have had a few people upset about the delay, but when the whole household is down sick, we have to handle things as best we can.

We appreciate those who have shown patience and understanding.

This Saturday will be our first drop-off time for yard sale donations. Thank you to everyone who continues to support the rescue as we get back on our feet and keep moving forward.

Due to the fact people get sick...it may take a moment to hear back from someone. Thank you for your understanding and consideration we are still caring for birds and trying to recover.
