⏰It’s time to change our clocks again! ⏰
This weekend we get to set our clocks back an hour, and with that we have to adjust to a whole new routine. Here’s some ways to make the transition easier!
1. Get outside! Especially early in the morning, following the time change will help reset your internal clock to the new time.
2. Maintain your sleep schedule! Try to get at least 7 hours of sleep before and after time change.
3. Shift your bedtime! Start shifting your bedtime by 15-20 minutes a few nights before time change.
4. Adjust meal times! Change your mealtimes to adjust to the new times.
5. Exercise! Move your body every day. Exercise releases endorphins which help improve moods, helps cope better with stress, and improves sleep.
6. Seek out natural light. Our circadian rhythm naturally shifts with exposure to sunlight. So spend time outside without sunglasses to get the full benefits!
Hopefully these tips help! If you do find yourself dragging after the clocks go backwards this weekend, give yourself a little grace. It’s a lot for our bodies to adapt to! ☺️
