The Town of Cohasset is pleased to provide an update on the Tennis Courts Improvement Project. The project experienced a significant delay earlier this season due to concerns identified during the initial concrete pour. Following consultation with concrete experts, the Town conducted comprehensive testing to evaluate the concrete’s strength and long-term viability. Based on expert recommendations, a corrective measure was taken to mitigate potential spalling caused by water concentration.

With this work successfully completed, the bonding layer of slurry has been applied, and the coloring of the courts is now in progress. The project is scheduled for completion by October 24, 2025.

The Town appreciates the community’s patience as these necessary steps were taken to ensure the courts meet the highest standards of quality and durability. These improvements will provide residents with safe, high-quality courts that will serve the community for years to come.

Upon completion, the courts will be delivered with a 25-year warranty, ensuring they stand the test of time for future generations of Cohasset residents.

As a result of the project delay, R.A.D. Sports has generously donated both the turf and installation of the turf surround for the lacrosse wall—an enhancement that was previously unfunded and will further improve the facility.

SSTA Fall/Winter Leagues start October 20, 2025 and run through April 13, 2026. Cost is $40 to register for the season, and $19 paid to the Kingsbury Club each evening of play. Kingsbury Club is located at 186 Summer Street, Kingston, MA.

Sunday Coed Doubles at The Kingsbury Club 4:00 - 5:30 PM

Sunday Mixed Doubles at The Kingsbury Club 5:30 - 7:00 PM

Equipment check!! 🎾🎾 If you haven’t had your racquet restrung in a while, now is a good time to get that done. Options in the area include the PGA superstore in Braintree, Weymouth Club, South Shore Y, and local legend Bob Carr. Bob carries many strings and can help you find the best fit for your playing style. 617-548-8558
It is recommended that you restring your racquet as many times in a year as you play in a week. So if you play three times a week, you should restring three times a year. 🌟
