Our residents at John H. Whitaker Place celebrated National Good Samaritan Day by spreading a little kindness throughout our community ❤️

Residents spent the morning assembling goodie bags filled with treats and thank-you notes for some of our local community helpers. In the afternoon, they enjoyed a ride around town delivering the bags to our local fire and police stations, middle school office staff, Gibsons Bookstore, and a local coffee shop.

Our residents loved the opportunity to give back and recognize the people who help keep our community running every day. It was a wonderful day filled with gratitude, smiles, and community spirit.

Thank you to all of our local heroes for everything you do! 💙

This week we had so much fun celebrating our incredible team during Staff Appreciation Week! 🎉

Every single day, our staff shows unwavering dedication, compassion, and hard work in caring for our residents, and we are truly grateful for all that they do. Their commitment helps make our community such a warm, supportive, and joyful place to call home.

We value each and every member of our team and the difference they make in the lives of our residents. Not only are they amazing caregivers, but we also love having fun together and celebrating the wonderful people who make our community so special! 💙

We wrapped up February with an incredible Heart Health Week filled with fun, learning, and wellness! ❤️ Our residents enjoyed an inspiring presentation from Engage Senior Therapy titled “Strong Hearts, Stronger Independence: The Role of Exercise and Rehabilitation in Heart Health,” along with a smoothie bar, heart health trivia, and making delicious peanut butter protein balls. Throughout the week, we focused on heart-healthy meals and activities that support the mind, body, and soul, and ended with a “Heart Smart” Scavenger Hunt where every heart health tip found around the building was a chance to win our Heart Health raffle basket — a fun and meaningful way to celebrate healthy hearts and strong independence!

We had a great time celebrating Valentine’s Day in our community! Residents got hands-on at Cupid’s Craft Corner, creating fun and festive projects, then designed beautiful arrangements at our Build Your Own Bouquet station. The celebration continued at our Sweetheart Social with delicious treats, music, and plenty of laughter. It was an engaging, joy-filled day that brought everyone together in the best way! ❤️

Our Valentine’s Day lunch was truly exceptional! Residents were treated to a special menu featuring prime rib with au jus, Asian crispy duck leg, sautéed bok choy, herb butter asparagus, and confit garlic risotto. The meal began with a fried green tomato caprese salad topped with burrata, basil pesto, and balsamic reduction, and ended with a decadent chocolate lava cake served with vanilla bean crème fraîche. It was a beautifully prepared Valentine’s celebration! ❤️🍽️

Bingo Bash Day! 🧡🎉 All year long, our residents have been stacking up their bingo wins and collecting tokens—and today was the big payoff! ✨ Smiles, cheers, and plenty of prizes filled the room as tokens were cashed in during our annual Bingo Bash. What a great way to celebrate a year of fun and lucky numbers!
