Sometimes spa ownership looks like this…

Laying on the heated bed while waiting for the laundry to finish, staring around the room thinking, “Wow… this is really mine.”

Between the back-to-back appointments, endless towels, product restocks, late nights, learning new techniques, answering messages, ordering supplies, cleaning, marketing, and yes… the never-ending laundry, there are moments like this where I just stop and take it all in.

This little spa room holds a lot — laughter, relaxation, skincare goals, real conversations, and a whole lot of towels. Running a small business means wearing every hat… esthetician, cleaner, marketing department, laundry service, and sometimes therapist too. 😅

Small business life isn’t always glamorous, but I truly wouldn’t trade it for ANYTHING!

I feel so incredibly blessed by the amazing clients who trust me with their skin, their relaxation, and their time. Lookworthy exists because of the people who walk through the door and support this dream, and I never take that for granted.

Thank you for keeping Lookworthy busy, full of life, and continuing to grow. You keep the heated bed warm and the laundry machines working overtime… and I appreciate every single one of you more than you know. 🖤✨

Botox day at Lookworthy! 💉

Thank you to everyone who came out — I appreciate every single one of you trusting us with your faces.

A big thank you to Sarah Surber, NP for helping make these days possible and keeping Madison County looking refreshed.

I also had a little last-minute idea, so I picked up some goodies from a couple great local businesses:

🌸 The Gift Box in Pendleton for the flowers and the adorable candle giveaways

I love being able to support other small businesses while taking care of my amazing clients.

Botox, bagels, flowers, candles, and smooth foreheads… we’re basically solving all of life’s problems over here. ✨

Tomorrow is Botox day… and my neck just got a microneedling treatment. 🤣

I’ve had a few people check in and ask if I’m okay since I’ve been a little quiet lately. I promise I’m good. A lot is happening behind the scenes and business is great.

I’ve been busy working, planning, and building.

Microneedling is one of my favorite treatments because when it’s done correctly, it can create beautiful results for texture, scarring, fine lines, and overall skin health.

But here’s the part that doesn’t always get talked about enough…

Technique matters. Training matters.

Microneedling should be performed using a true vertical stamping technique — not dragging the device across the skin. Proper technique allows the needles to enter and exit the skin cleanly, which helps create controlled micro-channels while minimizing unnecessary trauma to the tissue.

It also requires understanding things like:
• proper needle depth for different areas of the face
• correct speed and pressure
• treatment patterns and passes
• skin conditions and contraindications
• when to treat — and when not to treat

Devices are tools… but education and experience are what make them effective.

Another big piece people don’t always realize is how important aftercare is. Your skin is in a healing and regenerative phase after microneedling, so what you do afterward truly matters.
Microneedling isn’t just a quick treatment — it’s a process of controlled stimulation and proper healing.

That’s why I always make sure my clients understand both the technique behind the treatment and the aftercare that supports their results.

Because good skin treatments aren’t just about what happens in the treatment room…
they’re about what happens after as well.

When I was looking for a space for my business, I wasn’t just looking for a room. I wanted the right environment.

Good vibes.
A cozy spa atmosphere.
And women who support each other instead of side-eyeing each other across the hallway.

RELAXation Retreat Studios checked every box.

Each of us runs our own business, but we’ve truly built something special under one roof. There’s collaboration, encouragement, lots of laughs… and yes, a whole lot of towels and laundry.

Seeing so many of the businesses here recognized in the Best of Madison County awards just proves what I already knew — this place is full of incredibly talented women who genuinely care about their clients and their craft.

I’m pretty grateful to be part of this group and to call this space home for Lookworthy. 💚💙

Turns out when you put a bunch of passionate women in one cozy spa space, pretty amazing things happen. 🏆✨

Behind every small business is a whole team holding it up.

This one might have my name on it — but it absolutely does not run because of me alone.

To my husband — thank you for always being there. For refilling the water, putting together furniture, running errands, and handling all the bookkeeping and finances. For supporting every idea, every long day, and every “I have one more client.” You keep this business steady in ways most people never see.

To my parents — this wouldn’t have happened without you. You instilled work ethic, resilience, faith, and the belief that I could build something of my own. That foundation started long before Lookworthy ever did.

To my sister — thank you for always jumping in. Helping with laundry, telling everyone about my business, and keeping Botox days running smoothly. You make the chaos look easy.

To my kids — thank you for being patient and understanding the small business life. For knowing that sometimes work calls, but home is always my priority. You are the reason I built this in the first place.

And to Lyla — the original owner of Lookworthy — thank you for building the foundation and the loyal client base that made this transition possible. What you built mattered, and I’m grateful to continue growing it.

Small businesses aren’t built alone. They’re built with sacrifice, teamwork, and a whole lot of love.
