Spent my evening at the Child Abuse Awareness Month Kickoff hosted by the Exchange Club 💙

Listening, learning, and being reminded just how important it is to have these conversations—even when they aren’t easy.

This month, Lookworthy is proud to be part of “Painting the County Blue.”
And in a small way, we’re giving back—$5 from services will go toward supporting awareness efforts.

Real Talk Tuesday.

I couldn’t decide on a topic… but one was decided for me.
And I know it’s only Monday, but my Tuesday is slammed—so we’re posting it now.

Let’s clear this up real quick—
I am not a massage therapist… and I don’t pretend to be.

My body treatments are relaxation-based. Think:
✔️ Warm bed
✔️ Hot towels
✔️ Body scrub
✔️ Cream lotion
✔️ Slow, long movements
✔️ Light, surface work
✔️ Nervous system calm

Not:
✖️ Deep tissue
✖️ Muscle work
✖️ Fixing your back, neck, or “that one spot”

If you want therapeutic massage… go see a licensed massage therapist.
If you want to relax and melt into the bed… come see me. I treat skin…. Not muscles.

Two different things. Both valuable.

Also—fun fact. I was voted Top 3 in Massage Therapist. Yes, I asked to be removed. I was told since they don’t use the term “licensed” in that category, and because some esthetic services (like facials) include massage within our scope… I qualified.

But let me be clear—I know my scope, and I stay in it. ✔️

Staying in scope isn’t optional—it’s how I protect my license, my clients, and this industry.
Hopefully this clears things up… I’m over constantly having to explain myself 🤣

No scrambling. No stress. No “hope they don’t notice that…” energy.

Just confidence.

Let me be real for a second—
If you think you don’t need proper licensing… you’re wrong.
If you think they aren’t checking… they are.
If you think it doesn’t matter… it absolutely does.

I didn’t work this hard for my esthetics license, certifications, and business to risk it by cutting corners. Not now. Not ever.
