Congratulations to Alex Vazquez!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Alex for achieving national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)!

Alex, a proud CTUIR-enrolled Tribal member, joined Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center as a Pharmacy Technician Intern in August 2024. This internship offers an 18-month career development pathway, and Alex worked hard every step of the way—earning her Oregon Pharmacy Technician license, completing strenuous coursework, and gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy practice.

From learning about pharmacy laws and medication safety to mastering supply chain management and billing, Alex dedicated herself to this journey. After months of preparation, she traveled to Walla Walla, WA, took the 90-question certification exam, and passed!

This achievement is a huge milestone—not just for Alex, but for our community. The Pharmacy Technician Internship at Yellowhawk provides Tribal members with on-the-job training and resources to prepare for state licensure and national certification, opening doors to meaningful careers in healthcare. Congrats Alex!

Please join us in congratulating Alex on this incredible accomplishment! We’re so proud of you!
