Hi, I’m Michelle Miller.
I took my first yoga class at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, a retreat center in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, around 1997 when I was in my late twenties. Before that, I had practiced only a little meditation after reading Natalie Goldberg’s book, The Long Quiet Highway: Waking Up in America.
At Kripalu, I was also introduced to DansKinetics and immediately recognized the power of mindful, embodied movement through dance. In 2016, I earned my 200-hour yoga certification with Marianne Wells in Costa Rica. I also fell in love with Nia, a movement practice that blends yoga, dance, and martial arts, and eventually earned my black belt teaching certification.
I have been teaching movement since 2008, including yoga classes for college credit at Blue Mountain Community College, where I also teach biology courses such as Survey of Anatomy and Physiology. Outside of teaching, I love rivers, painting, and long outdoor adventures with my partner, Gary Parker.
I started teaching at Muse in September 2025. My current offerings include a gentler, more accessible form of mindful dance called Moving to Heal at Muse Studios. In this class, you can expect grounded, barefoot movement to vibrant, multi-genre music. Dance is a powerful way to build coordination, strength, and mobility while reconnecting with your body in a joyful way. Each class concludes with 15 minutes of gentle yoga stretches to integrate and restore.
