Good Morning! It has been quite a week at ye old Toothbarn. Some thing good … some things not so good, we will be short handed again today, (I am still calling for skilled, team oriented, detail driven, likes to enjoy work day with great folks who like a good laugh Dental Hygienists to call Cami at 585 377-1670 and apply for the best job you will ever have) wearing me down a bit.
I might look like that squirrel in the picture - but I still FIND THE FUN and know that I have a blessed life! Business stuff will always be a drag … but enjoying time with the ToothFairies and our patient friends is just priceless. No one enjoys the process of having a tooth fixed - but finding a way to help my friends through it without worry warms my heart!
So today, I may look run down (I am) but a closer look will see the gleam in my eye of a 4 year old in a Batman suite waiting to FIND THE FUN and share it to make you smile!

Good Morning! Over the weekend (when I wasn’t in the office) I got a little yard work in. Nice temperatures, sunshine and future rains made it a good time to try and fix the dreaded dead lawn spots! I had this planned out when I bought all of that topsoil.
So I used my crazy diggy, surface loosening tool (that I found at a garage sale) to open the crusty ground, mixed the seed in the topsoil, a few trips with the wheelbarrow … and done!
Oh no - not done - the new seed needs to be protected … which brings me to my Word of the Day - FOR PEAT’S SAKE! I covered my hard work with PEAT moss to keep in the moisture with the upcoming rain! (my hero big brother Tim told
Me about this)
For all of the times Mom would say to me “FOR PEAT’S SAKE Terrance” now I know that like my grass seed - she was just helping me grow!

Good Morning! The sun is beaming, coffee full of girly creamer, and birds are chirping!
Yesterday was a torrent of software issues to start our day - I tried to work with online help, but need more of a hands on approach … and my great friends at Henry Schein (yes that is you Terry and JD) bailed me out! A very busy day (Monday’s can do that).
When the dust settled, and I was cleaning up desk papers, I received a text that leads me to my Word of the Day - DENTAL HYGIENIST WANTED! Jackie will be leaving in two weeks to follow a lifestyle change.
I think we have a Great Office (21 Willow Pond Way, Penfield NY 14526 … Privately owned (me), no weekends or evenings, working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with lunch 1:00 - 2:00, a very high degree of technology, small group with wonderful patients.

Good Morning! The sun is up, feeder is full and birds are chirping! Good start to the day.
Between office computer work and home yard work … my busy weekend has ended … besides a sore shoulder, some hair ripped out (computer stuff) … I made a PIE!
So my Word of the Day is THE APPLE OF MY PIE.
Saturday morning I got slicing up APPLES (not fingers) to fill the PIE crust that jumped out of my freezer while I looked for blueberries - which was an obvious sign from the universe - to make a PIE.
I am not one to ignore signs from the universe - so I found my seldom used Betty Crocker cook book and got my Bake On.
Well, the comedy of errors that is me following a recipe - I baked a pie … a little funny looking (too much nutmeg - tiny measuring spoon over filled) but tasty enough!
That is why THE APPLE OF MY PIE is my Word of the Day!

Good Morning! I was computer-Doc yesterday … updating our EagleSoft management system. It seems that the new sensors want the latest operating system to function to their best. Happily the nice young man (I seem to say that more in my old age) set the update process nicely for me, and I just had to go from PC to PC and do the steps - three hours later and all done!
A few more non computer things and I zoomed home to mow the lawn … before the rains of today. Of course rain or shine - my bird-feeder is full and open for my wet bird friends!
Now to a Word of the Day … BUFFALO BILLS DRAFT! Yesterday the awesome BUFFALO BILLS began their reload for the upcoming season! (Disclaimer: I actually don’t know much about the intricacies of NFL football, any of the available college football players, the BUFFALO BILLS personnel, financial considerations, or anything really … but I have watched the movie Draft Day (excellent movie), and met General Manager Brandon Bean … so obviously I have something to say!
Good Job Mr. Bean … these very large young men should fit in just fine, to push us over the top and win the Superbowl … and there will be more BUFFALO BILLS DRAFT today!
That is why BUFFALO BILLS DRAFT is my Word of the Day - beaming (or Beaning) with optimism! Go BILLS!

Good Morning! I have been enjoying some relaxing on the not too sunny porch to start my non clinical day. The geese must all be working today … I heard a lot of honking as they flew by.
Shortly, I will be heading to ye old tooth barn to meet my great friend JD from Henry Schein to install new x ray image sensors. What? New stuff at your age Doc? - oh yes - everything wears out, and it is time for an upgrade. New autoclave is coming too - just like dentist Christmas!
JD has been soooo good to me, supporting all of our technology (and we have a lot), with a big smile on his face, while solving the unique technological issues that only I can have! I would like to have JD be my Word of the Day - but he is too humble to accept that (it can be our little secret) - so I will use FIELD TRIP as in the flowers that Rhonda and I purchased from the Garden Factory are on a FIELD TRIP, from the ‘stay out of the crazy spring snow/cold porch’ to out on the deck box to enjoy possible rain and hopeful peeks of sun!

Good Morning! I hope it is a non rainy weekend … I have a bit of LAWN MOWING to do. Of course there will be some mulch and dirt moving too. But this lawn is shaggy.
A few years ago, I went from my gas propelled toro to a Ryobi electric … much quieter for old dentist tinnitus ears - and it fits in the shed easier.
Well this morning I saw that me neighbors across the street did me one better! It seems that they have hired DeerBirds MOWING service. They stopped in Rhonda’s for breakfast, then my Birdfeeder for desert (Spicy) and off to work!
I watched for a while - and took a few photos to share … and now Hi Ho off to work I must go! So LAWN MOWING is my Word of the Day!

Good Morning! I am dragging a bit this morning. I feel like a baseball pitcher that threw a few too many pitches. My right shoulder is barking!
Yesterday afternoon Tyna and I saw a good friend, who recently got unsettling health news. Our proposed treatment was involved, but only another step in what has been a lengthy amount of repair.
We all talked about what would help the most (especially after the unsettlement) and decided to do more.
Out plan doubled into crowning all of the broken teeth on one side … which would have us work way past closing time.
Here is where I get to my Word of the Day … TYNA or TEAMWORK (for the past 30 years they have meant the same to me). TYNA knew that our ‘new’ plan would be a lot to do - but would really help our friend - then didn’t even blink and said “let’s do it Doc”. Big job!
We were all pretty ‘dished’ when we completed out procedure. Our patient left with a Big Smile - saying ‘I’ve got teeth!’, and I said “hey T let’s just leave this and clean up in the morning”.
Of course we cleaned up together right then and there. There is no beating great TEAMWORK - it gets even the most arduous jobs done, with support all the way. That is why TEAMWORK and TYNA are my Word of the Day because they are one and the same!
Oh the picture shows the cute TEAM … obviously from different backgrounds, but able to cuddle together and make you smile!

Good Morning! A slow windup to start the day! My birds requested hot oatmeal and coffee!
I think my Mother misdated Tim and I. He was born 3 years before me … but wakes up earlier than I do, stays up later, works harder during the day - and just look at the hair! Sure was Great having him visit!
Well my first look out the window gave me my Word of the Day - FROSTY LAWN (great band name for those starting a band). Pretty, but not mulch weather - must be in honor of the awesome Buffalo Sabres return to the NHL playoffs!
So FROSTY LAWN is my Word of the Day (hopefully to be replaced by Warm and Sunny soon). Have a Great Day - Go Sabres!

Good Morning! As you may have read - hero big brother TIM has been staying with me … at it has been Great!
TIM is so wise - he picked a great movie - The Gorge - for a Saturday treat, fixed my run-on toilet by replacing the gizmo inside (I was too timid to try … the flooding the house concern), and just good company!
Today is back to work so TIM will head back to EA to continue his work.
So TIM is may Word of the Day - and my Word of my Life!

Good Morning-ish. Today I have a good (and not totally made up) excuse … and it is my Word of the Day! VISITORS!
No not from outer space (but that has not been proven), my Family has come to VISITS! Tim has been working his tail off at his EA house (I looked and - no tail), needed a break and Ta Da a weekend VISIT!
Well having hero brother Tim VISITING draws others too!! Angel sister Kate and Michael VISITED too last night. Great times on the Sunporch (with new chair light).
Then this morning while Tim and I were planning to go to George’s for breakfast, I received a FaceTime call from Brien!!!! Ahh too much fun! My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much!
I would say more (and proofread what I have written - but it is time for more VISITING … at George’s - for lunch!

Good Morning! I have been wildly trying to straighten up (hide the papers and junk) my little house … because TIM IS COMING FOR A VISIT.
My hero big brother has been working on his EA house for … well it seems like forever … and he is coming for a few days to chill here.
You know how sometimes things pile up around the house, and end up in the ‘I’ll get that later’ pile - ahhh that day is today!
I don’t plan to really put things away properly (not enough time for that), just hide them for now. My closets may need to be bulging with a warning sign that I used to use on Brien and Colin around Christmas time ‘rats and snakes inside’ (Note: that the sign just made Brien and Colin want to look in there more - boys! - but Tim is not a fan).
So TIM IS COMING FOR A VISIT is my Word of the Day … and I have to get back to hiding my house junk! Wish me luck!
Oh the Geese pictures had nothing to do with my Word of the Day … I just thought they were funny.
