Good Morning! Alexa chose some type of chamber music to wake me this morning - well that didn’t work - my dreams just got a little classier!
It is Monday, and lately that has been a problem day (imagine seeing me anxiously chewing my fingernails) … but I prepared!
Last night I decided to set up the coffee pot, and without noticing I put in few scoops of FLAVORED COFFEE (chocolate raspberry)
Ooooo this stuff is sooo good! Now I just have to get motivated to leave the Couch Cafe. So my Word of the Day is FLAVORED COFFEE - a great way to defend against Mondayness!

Good Morning! I am about to zoom (or be dragged by a prior choice that I made yesterday not remembering how comfortable my bed in the morning) to the gym to meet coach Ric.
Well, as you can see by the picture taken several miles away (ok from inside sunporch door so as to not frighten away and flighty friends) - the Bird Sauna is in use! A sole bather so far - but soon the Chirp will get out and I will need to get a velvet rope for crowd control!
Today’s Word of the Day is FULL CIRCLE! Ooo this could be deep - and well … it is! I have had several big issues on my mind that I needed to make decisions for … and I needed advice … so I asked my sons.
There was a time that they would ask me for advice (and sometimes I would offer totally unsolicited), and now my life has come FULL CIRCLE where I can get insight from these wonderful grown men. Thank you for growing into such wise men!

Good … ok- I really just missed morning today. I was up early enough … but kind of wandered aimlessly - so Good Afternoon!
Well, today is my younger brother KEVIN’s Birthday! (Word of the Day alert). I thought that I might find a picture of when we were children for this … but I couldn’t get the stone tablet in my phone. I think all of our childhood were Polaroids and likely lost … so these few will have to do!
I have sent KEV a fun Blue Mountain card … and will regale him with the dreaded ‘birthday song’ a little later - when he least expects it!
So a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN!

Good Morning! Day … well actually Night … 2 with no nightmares! I had a few things to get done before an early doctor appointment, so I needed Alexa to wake me up. Well that little radio Vixen did wake me … but knew that I wouldn’t get out of bed when she did! My wake up song (oh yes I ask to be awakened to music - no screaming bzzzzz for me - which is why the clock radio was invented!), was ‘Stairway to Heaven’! You just can’t turn that off when it starts! In no time I was waving my arms and bobbing my head singing along - totally awake! Good Job Alexa! (I hope that is not over sharing).
My Word of the Day is FRIENDS (not the old TV show - but I liked it too). I have Great FRIENDS! (I hope they know that they also have a FRIEND in me). Again, I had to rely on one of my crazily Great Skilled Dental Specialist FRIEND to help (really solve), a dental pain for a dear patient.
It is mentally crushing and painful for me, when I cannot diagnose and help someone who comes to me for dental issues. (I have been well trained at the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry and then there are the 40 years of experience! … but I just didn’t know.) So thank you Dr Lowenguth (again) - you are a spectacular Dental Specialist and better FRIEND.
Oh my FRIEND thank you’s don’t end there … a fellow hockey fan, Patty offered me several hockey tickets to see our Amerks a while back … so kind … but there is more! Of course I goofed up the phone/internet ticket capture to transfer from Ticketmaster to my phone wallet (which I’m not a real place - just computie stuff), but Patty stuck with this old guy - talked me through and I had the virtual tickets. Then the scourge of illness came and at the last minute … we could not go - thank you Patty, we tried … oh no this is not the end … this Great FRIEND found a way to transfer the computerie tickets to another night! Tonight is that night.
These are just the most recent Big examples of what great FRIENDS that I have … the daily love and support that I get is constant (and always needed). So FRIENDS Thank You - you all know who you are … I have no life without you.

Good Morning! These are not actually pictures from today … but they are a good summary of the week.
No evil nightmares last night - yea, but I received an early call this morning while I was filling the bird feeder, that we will be short handed again today. Tough winter.
Yesterday’s ‘stuff’ almost made me forget to wish my brother Kevin a HAPPY LIVER DAY. I called just before bed - much to Kevin’s surprise that I was still awake and able to handle a phone at that hour!
Many, many years ago Dr B at Strong Memorial Hospital preformed the magical full day LIVER transplant that saved my brother’s life.
Thank you Dr B wherever you are. Kevin’s recovery was long with many ups and downs - and he pulled through to be the wise and kind brother that we all love. Thank you for all to the wonderful people at Strong who did miraculous things for Kevin during that difficult time … especially Dale who put up with Kevin and Me with a smile and persistent message that ‘Terrance I am not going to lose this one’ you are an angel my friend - I will never forget you!
That is why HAPPY LIVER DAY is my Word of the Day again today … and everyday that I can share with my little brother!

Good Morning! I had some really disturbing Nightmares last night that have left me shaken again. These guys have to stop soon.
I still have those smiling lemons in my basket - so I will crawl out from under this ever growing cloud with a truly silly post!

Good Morning! I looked at my calendar and today is NOT MONDAY … which is very good for this old guy … because yesterday was one of the most MONDAYish MONDAYS that I can remember. (I was the penguin in the picture!)
It was like when it rains at Disney - you just wait till the waterworks stops and the sun comes out! Of course it helps to have spectacular ToothFairies … and I do!
So I wrote a little thing today - which just came to me while I refilled the bird feeder… and I decided to share.

I hope something in your morning is a little sparkle … that wakes up a giggle … which grows into a smile … that inspires others around to do the same - to kick sadnesses ass for the whole day!
All you need is a little sparkle!

Good Morning! I had quite a night of Nightmares again, and have been regrouping with an extra girly creamer in my coffee. Unfortunately, I recently found out that we will be short handed today due to illness. Ugg could become my Word of the Day … but that is no fun!
Well …. when the world hands you lemons … draw a funny face on them and laugh it off! There is always something in the memory banks to REDIRECT thoughts to the shiny side. Saturday, I came across one of the cutest pictures that I have ever seen. Oh yes … I copied that jewel for later! Today is later!
So today’s Word of the Day is REDIRECT - don’t let those Monday vibes steal your day! Feel free to copy my copy of the cutest picture and feel the warmth rise!

Good Morning! It was pretty chilly when I came out to the ‘where is the sun’ porch but little heater has done its job … and here I am.
Yesterday I read that CHUCK NORIS had died - and I was sad. I did not know CHUCK NORIS (hard to believe because I know so many Hollywood people) but everything I have ever read or heard of him indicated that he was a good and honorable man.
I enjoyed every movie and television show CHUCK NORIS was in . Then there are the hilarious CHUCK NORIS jokes about how tough he was - and just look at his chiseled physique … he earned them. I bought the (not used as much as it used to be) ‘Total Gym’ exercise set up which CHUCK NORIS designed. (The basement is still a work in progress - I will get back to it).
CHUCK NORIS always represented good … and I like that. If you can … say a prayer for CHUCK NORIS’s family who lost him seemingly out on nowhere to soon.
That is why CHUCK NORIS is my Word of the Day … and I will leave you with one of my favorite CHUCK NORIS jokes “Most children check their closet for the boogeyman every night. But the boogeyman checks his closet for CHUCK NORIS every night.”

Good Morning! I have been one lounging old guy this morning, on my non-clinical day. I came out to the not too sunny, a little chilly, very peaceful, but where are the birds porch (boy that name seems to change a lot) early and just relaxed - enjoying my Keurig coffee and Classic Vinyl.
Soon I will add in a delicious green bagel. Oh, I know what you are thinking … something like … he discarded expiration dates again - but No … this is a (very recently made) - green bagel from St. Pactrick’s Day given to our office by the very skilled, kind and fun folks at RocPerio. Which brings me to my Word of the Day - PEOPLE ARE SO NICE TO ME - THANK YOU!
For all of you that treat me so well - you are never taken for granted, or forgotten; you are cherished and loved.
Yesterday my little brother Kevin and his friend Bob drove all the way from Holland for a visit (Kev is the more fuzzy one). Heather went out of her way to make me directions to go to MCC (yes I get lost often). Big Bro Tim and Jeffo chatted with me on my ride into work … and I can go on!

Good Morning! I ignored Alexa’s morning alarm … and she seemed to get a little miffed at me. After a while, I think she turned the volume up and picked songs I didn’t like. It worked!
I certainly am not aging as gracefully as I had planned. By week’s end (and sometimes just at the end of Monday), I am exhausted. Now I also seem to lose my days ‘is it Monday? ‘ and months ‘oh what month is this’ - Ugg I have paper wall calendars everywhere, a phone that has a computer in it … and my watch does too!
One good thing for me is that several years ago, I purchased a subscription to BLUE MOUNTAIN CARDS! Not only are the ‘CARDS’ (they are electronic) spectacular … they get to whomever you want in about 10 seconds!
I usually can find somewhere to customize and add my particular genius before I send (and when you forget someone’s email - you can send it by text - right to their phone … WooHoo!). This saves me a fortune on the ‘Sorry That This Is Late Cards (I keep a stock - just in case).
So BLUE MOUNTAIN CARDS is(are) my Word of the Day!

Good Morning! I am one exhausted dentist today … when my alarm went off I asked Alexa if she was sure that it was time to get up. I am pretty sure all I heard was digital laughing.
Well today’s Word of the Day is super easy - really hard to write with tears running down my face … all tears of joy!
Today is my son BRIEN’s 37 birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIEN!
BRIEN started out small but mighty on that icy night so many years ago at Highland Hospital, fought so hard to stay with us, showed my what determination, goodness and kindness were as he grew, and is a wonderful man! (Spoiler: Brien, Colin and Sean have grown into wonderful men that make me proud every day).
As a skilled graphic designer - Brien designed our new Willow Pond Dental logo! (yes, as soon as I can I will get our door sign made to show you BRIEN’s mastery as you come to our office … and Heather frequently reminds me (which I need) we need new business cards too).
So today - I may be exhausted from some very late nights at work - but is will have that twinkle in my eyes because it is BRIEN’S BIRTHDAY!
