Good Morning! I it still dark out, but I have a few early morning errands to run, so here I am! The wind is howling out there, and I heard that the weather might get dicey - be careful if you go out and about!
My Word of the Day is BEEN THERE as in Rich Stadium - Ralph Wilson Stadium - New Era Field - Bills Stadium - High Mark Staduim (heck I saw a game at The Old Rock Pile).
I saw OJ Simpson, Bobby Chandler, all of the Heroes of the Super Bowl era (which are too many to name), Doug Flutie and Josh Allen ply their crafts. I even met Jim Kelly and Steve Tasker while out and about; and they were cordial and kind to offer their time to this random Buffalo Bills fan.
I have cheered, made odd sounds to upset opposing teams, booed, and cried in the stadium. There have been days that the sun baked me, wind removed my hats, rain washed me through and through, and of course some days ‘It May be Chilly’ in the snow.
Now as the stadium is down to its last game - I am glad that I get to say BEEN THERE. Thank you for the memories … I will cherish them forever. My new Christmas ornament (in picture drom my tree) will adorn my tree every year!
Marv Levy said “where would you rather be than right here (in the stadium), right now” … and I cannot think of anywhere else!

Good Morning! I did clear my driveway and back patio yesterday. Of course big snowblower did not start … it doesn’t run in cold weather! (It did start right up in the fall). Snow Joe was more of a No Go Joe. There is a (silly) little safety device button on the handle that needs to be compressed along with the actual go switch. I compressed … it threw snow … in 2 or 3 feet at a time, then stopped - to do again!
Yes, my trusty shovel took care of it! Somewhere in the middle of the job my angel sister Kate called and told me to wait and let the predicted warmer rain remove the snow - but I started a job … and need to finish what I start! Yes Kate is smarter that I am (and probably doesn’t have a sore shoulder today).
With that all said, today’s Word of the Day has noting to do with snow … because today is CALENDAR DAY! I love my wall CALENDARs (one at home and one at office) not just for the lovely pictures, but so I can see the entire month plan.
So today I will add the ‘don’t forget these’ things from last year’s CALENDAR (birthdays, Holidays etc), add in things from my Office CALENDAR (holidays, vacations, seminars, meetings etc) that I made earlier in 2025, and new things planned for 2026. All of this while not peeking at the monthly pictures (who am I kidding - I peek).
So I will kick on the tunes, tefresh my coffee, get out many different colored pens and get to work!

Good Morning! The birds and cats are fed … oh no I did not feed the birds to the cats … they were two totally different feedings! I think I am soooo funny.
First thing I had to do was to get my trash/ recycle totes to the end of the driveway. Ugg, way to solid SNOW pack to pull through, so I had to get the shovel out … which brings me to my word of the day - HEAVY SNOW!
What fell yesterday and last night wasn’t soft and fluffy - it is solid - so beware! I got to the end of the driveway, and I could feel it (not crazy but no picnic either). It looks like a day for Snow Joe or maybe the big snow blower (if it starts).
If you still have young children - tell them to go play in the driveway and they will move the SNOW - making snow forts, snowmen and just romping around (that what we did).
So HEAVY SNOW is my Word of the Day - don’t underestimate it, and if you are in Rochester and cannot remove the SNOW to get out - reply to this and I can pack a shovel and Snow Joe and visit!

Good Morning! It was a busy morning at my little house. Kevin had to go home to watch his grandson … a wonderful event. Obviously Kev is a fabulous Grandpa … he puts the fun in a sleep over … with a few well hidden rules.
It was great having Brien and Kevin spend a few nights. Yesterday, Sean and CeCe spent time exchanging gifts, telling stories and making this place glow! All GREAT COMPANY!
I was captivated when Sean and Kevin exchanged stories of their jobs … similar in many ways and totally alike in their determination to get it right - the first time I respect a strong work ethic. Brien taught me a thing or two while he was here also.
What a good week with GREAT COMPANY! Which is why GREAT COMPANY! Is my word of the day.
While the quiet is here - it is desk work time … I can almost hear echos of all of the great conversations and laughter! Have a Great Day!

Good Morning! MERRY CHRISTMAS! I must still have a bit of child in me … because I woke up around 5:00am and could not get back to sleep.
My Tree still has unopened gifts for later fun! Brien is back in Albany … maybe I will have a FaceTime with Meg , Saphie and him later. Sean will be by for big fun, and Kevin must have been good - because there are packages for him too! I may pinch the activation ear of my loud singing reindeer too (watch out Grandma). Wild fun!
Last night, Sean set up the FaceTime for my annual reading of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ for Brien, Sean and Me (Colin wasn’t feeling well) … great technomagic to keep our tradition alive (going strong since 1989!)
Today I will cook my CHRISTMAS ham (I know that it is already cooked, and that I really only need to heat it), for all comers with an appetite - birds don’t eat ham - but they are fed too).
So my Word of the Day is MERRY CHRISTMAS - I hope you feel the Joy of the Day!

Good Morning! It is a no Alarm day … but I was a little alarmed as I opened my shades. I had yard visitors! They looked a little like the DeerBirds that used to empty my feeder …. but these nice fellows didn’t even go to the back yard. No Taco Bell for them!
I missed seeing the morning rush, but was greeted with happy chirps while I walked over to feed Rhonda’s cats. A veritable Wild Kingdom … maybe I am Marlon Perkins!
My Word of the Day is, of course CHRISTMAS EVE! The CHRISTMAS EVE! Story ends well with Jesus’s birth announced and celebrated by kings and angels … as it should be … but I cannot get over the idea of a man with a pregnant woman, exhausted from a very long journey - not given room inside.
Born in a manager surrounded by animals makes for good songs … but humans could have done better. Everyone shove over a little and make room. Sorry for sounding like a downer … but I hope this CHRISTMAS EVE ushers in a notice and caring for those in need.

Good Morning-ish. I have had the most WONDERFUL TIME this morning sitting on my sunporch with Brien chatting about noting in particular. Sean even popped by to drop something off that Brien left at his mother’s house. Together with 2 of my sons - What a Day!
After I drop Brien off at the train station, it will be project time - but for now I am simply in Heaven.
There was Trouble last night … ha ha ha … I had you thinking for a second - Brien and I kept up our family fun of playing the board game Trouble! Unfortunately neither of us had the opportunity to send the other back … which sometimes leads to tossing the other’s game piece … so neither of us know if we have grown up!
Brien has grown into quite a man, and I am sooo proud of him … but for last night and this morning I have reverted to when he was young and have had a WONDERFUL TIME. We did touch on a few adult thought which was great too!
That is why WONDERFUL TIME is my Word of the Day!

Good Morning! I woke up at the usual 5:00 am and tried to stay in bed … but the EXCITEMENT of having Brien visit was just too much! Since then I have been sneaking around my house trying not to wake him. Again, I am too EXCITED to actually do anything so I came out to the Sunporch to listen to my birds.
Last night on the way home, we descended to stop for a spot of dinner … hmm where to go at that hour (around 9:00pm - wow am I old) - the Road House should be open … and that is us having dinner!
We have no big plans today, so we will let the day take us where it goes. Maybe I will put the new heated bird bath out a good project to do while the snow is gone!
I am soooo EXCITED!!!! Which is why anything to do with EXCITEMENT is my Word of the Day!

Well it is later! I am at the train station waiting for my son Brien’s train to arrive. What AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT! I don’t know how long Brien will be staying with me … I know he told me … but my ears stopped working when I heard he was coming to visit me!!!
Obviously AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT is my Word of the Day! I am soooo excited!
Since I have no idea where the train station actual is located, I used apple maps for directions … which were interruptes by a police barricade on Clinton ave. I drove up and down tiny winding roads following the line on my car screen.
Just think … if I didn’t have this direction program I would be driving around downtown with a giant map on my lap until I ran out of gas! Absolutely no sense of direction! But here I am!
Now I sit here with an excited goofy grin on my face, patiently (not really) waiting to see Brien’s smiling face!!!
I am sooo excited!

Good Morning! I have been sitting here on my couch enjoying coffee in my Zoey cup, listening to Christmas Carols and REMEMBERING years gone by.
Today is our annual Christmas Party. While there have been quite a few combinations of ToothFairies (only Tyna has lasted since 1991 - but she took breaks!) over the years, several associate dentists (who now mostly run their own Dental Practices in our area - and I am very proud of their accomplishments), and old Santa me.
We will share a meal as stories and laughter take over where we go (I am always on a need to know basis … they tell me as we leave) . Share gifts - which always raise the volume quite a bit, as I try and take celebratory pictures (the only time my ToothFairies are naughty - not counting the sexiest dentist picture they put up - as they duck my pictures)
Thank you all! The memories (and a few zillion pictures) give me Great Joy every year. I have too many tears of joy (old softy) in my eyes and running down my cheeks to keep typing - so Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good Bite!
That is why REMEMBERING is my Word of the Day!

Good Morning! My warm blankets did not want to release me from bed this morning. Of course I fought them hard … or was it hardly fought? Well it is still morning!
The crazy cute picture … besides being sooo cute and festive … defines my Word of the Day - DENTAL MATERIALS!
Now, don’t swipe me - hear me out When we need to repair your damaged tooth, there are a lot of choices of DENTAL MATERIALS going on in my balding little head.
Size of restoration, adhesability, strength, structural support, partial or full coverage, depth towards nerve, potential allergenisity, and esthetics! (I probably left a few things out - but it is early).
During our morning meeting Tyna and I discuss these things (and you thought I just told jokes) so Tyna can have the correct MATERIALS at the ready … and may have to get out several options in case circumstances change during the procedure.
Yesterday we had a consultation for a fairly complex procedure that had potential allergy issues. More thinking needed to be done before we acted, and since no pain was involved - we gathered data, of course made an impression for a study model (strength, structural support, partial or full coverage), and sent our patient home with a small material choice sample for a skin test.
Yes- I stayed in my lab last night working with my model (I just had to do it) so more decisions can be made today.
We have cabinets and drawers full of material choices that have been carefully vetted and chosen, through the information I get in meetings, journals, and guidance from my wonderful sales representatives. Of course my company partners continually improve their MATERIALS - hence it helps to have great relationships with our wonderful supply companies through these hard working people. I guess it Takes a Village to fix a tooth! Thank you Everyone - for making me look good!
With all of that said (and yes … it was a mouth full he he he), that is why DENTAL MATERIALS is my Word of the Day!
