3 Trackers of Ohio

3 Trackers of Ohio A volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of adaptive recreational sports to persons with or without physical disabilities.

THREE TRACKERS OF OHIO began over 20 years ago when several people with amputated legs decided they wanted to share their passion for downhill skiing. Originally the group was primarily social, focused only on skiing for people that could stand. The term Three Trackers comes from the impression or tracks that a skier with an amputated leg leaves in the snow (one ski and two outriggers). Recently we have been able to add kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, and water skiing to the recreational activities we can share with individuals with disabilities. As equipment and techniques for adaptive skiing advanced, other adaptive methods were included. Several years ago, the group began acquiring adaptive ski equipment for people that could not stand or walk, but still wanted to ski. Volunteer instructors began learning how to use this equipment and teach others. This increased opportunities for people with more significant physical impairments. Three Trackers is now more focused on instruction and has a large collection of adaptive ski equipment and a host of skilled volunteers that can provide individualized instruction.

๐ŸŒŸ Volunteer Spotlight Series: Meet Scott! ๐ŸŒŸ

Next up in our Volunteer Spotlight series is Scott, a volunteer who brings experience, heart, and service both on and off the snow.

Scott has been volunteering with 3 Trackers of Ohio since 2019, encouraged by longtime friend and former president Yolanda Niemollar, who knew his background as a veteran and seasoned skier would make him a great fit.

โ›ท๏ธ On the snow:

Scott has been skiing since he was 4 years old and is now in his 20th season on the BMBWAV Ski Patrol. Heโ€™s a PSIA-certified instructor with Alpine Level 2 and Adaptive Level 1 certifications โ€” and it shows in the confidence he helps build in our athletes.

๐ŸŽ–๏ธ Veteran service:

Scott served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1997โ€“2003 as a KC-130 aerial navigator, with deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

โค๏ธ Favorite moment:

Watching one of his first students go from uninterested on beginner terrain to confidently linking turns on intermediate trails โ€” all within a single season.

๐Ÿค Why he volunteers:

To share his love of skiing, give back to the community, connect with fellow combat veterans, and help โ€œkeep the promise.โ€

๐ŸŽฅ Off the hill:

Scott and his wife, Chrissi, are proud rescue pet parents to two dogs and two cats, and he enjoys photography and video in his downtime.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Join the conversation:

Drop a โ›ท๏ธ in the comments to thank Scott for his service and dedication!

Follow along as we continue spotlighting the incredible volunteers who make 3 Trackers of Ohio possible.

๐ŸŽ‰ Happy New Year 2026 from 3 Trackers of Ohio! ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re heading into the new year full of excitement and gratitude for our athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters. ๐Ÿ’™

Sunday we kick off our first session of the winter season, and we canโ€™t wait to get back on the snow, make new friends, and keep creating opportunities through adaptive sports.

Hereโ€™s to a season filled with movement, inclusion, confidence, and community. Thank you for being part of what makes 3 Trackers of Ohio so special โ€” weโ€™re ready for an amazing winter! โ„๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ Volunteer Spotlight Series: Meet Meghan! ๐ŸŒŸ

Weโ€™re kicking off our Volunteer Spotlight series by introducing Meghan, a volunteer who reminds us exactly why adaptive sports matter.

Four seasons ago, Meghan joined 3 Trackers of Ohio so she could ski alongside her dad, an avid skier who became paralyzed and wanted to try monoskiing. Thanks to 3 Trackers, he was able to get back on the snowโ€ฆ and Meghan found a meaningful way to give back while sharing the sport they love.

โ›ท๏ธ Meghan learned to ski at age 5 and later taught herself to snowboard, making her passion for winter sports lifelong.

โค๏ธ Her favorite part of volunteering?

Watching the joy of skiing return to her dadโ€™s life โ€” a hobby he once taught all of his kids, and one he still gets to enjoy today.

๐Ÿค Why she volunteers:

To ski more during the season and help others experience the freedom, confidence, and joy that comes with adaptive sports.

Have you ever shared a sport or hobby with a family member? Tell us in the comments!

And if Meghanโ€™s story inspires you, give this post a โค๏ธ and follow us to meet more amazing volunteers.
