This 1 1/2” shoe lift/elevation was done on a waterproof muck boot. We used a vibram sole for the long life and aggressive tread. But most of all this shoe modification does not affect the waterproof aspect of the boot.

Stubborn wound on heel that won’t heal up…

For this patient with a wound on his heel, we marked the location. Then excavated the base of the shoe. Added a quarter inch more heel elevation with a cut out and backfilled with SRP. Then wrapped it all up with a leather top cover.

Long outer/lateral internal wedge.

This wedge is used to help prevent the foot from twisting to the outside/lateral. We extend the wedge down to the little ball of the foot (fifth metatarsal head) to control the front of the foot as well. To be aesthetically pleasing we put this wedge on the inside of the shoe to keep it hidden.

When you have tried all the bands on the market and nothing fits, it’s time to look at custom molded shoes. We make all our shoes in house and work directly with you to provide the most ideal fit possible. With this hands-on approach, we provide shoes faster and more effective. Also if or when an adjustment is needed most can be made within the same day. With 50 plus years of experience, let us find you a solution to your food needs.

Just a few highlights on this pair. We have a high lateral flare that helps to stop the outward rotation of the foot. Also the  orthotic is made high up the side of the foot to help provide cushioning for the ankle and foot. But the color combination of gray and black stripes gives a beautiful two tone pop. 😎

Eastern Pedorthics is a specialized foot and ankle care center located in Pennington N.J. For over 45 years we've been providing help to those in need of aid in regards to ambulation. Whether it's basic over-pronation or late-stage Charcot foot, no issue is beyond our capable hands. With 4 Credentialed Pedorthists on staff and a full-state-of- the-art lab on premises, professional and efficient care has always been our guarantee.

At Eastern Pedorthics every individual that walks through our door receives nothing less than our very best. We take pride in problem solving, and we're always up for the challenge no matter how great or small. With a wide range of footwear available in all widths and sizes, as well as OTC inserts and assorted foot-care products, affordable solutions are available for less complex problems. Our custom work ranges from properly placed padding, wedges and arch supports, molded shoes, gauntlet braces, accommodative inlays to aid in wound care, and semi-rigid orthotics. All custom-molded devices are fabricated in our on-site labs and by our very own staff of professionals. This old-world meets new-world approach allows for a while-you-wait adjustment, which has assured a success rate far beyond most expectations.

We accept most major health insurance plans with a written prescription. Appointments are highly recommended in such cases, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Whether it be simple shoe fit issues and or general foot fatigue and discomfort, our knowledgeable staff will get you back on your feet again!
