During a routine stop in Pine Valley, Officer James Carter was ambushed by a mountain lion. His K9 partner, Rex, broke free from the patrol car and charged into danger. Those few seconds saved Carter’s life but cost Rex his own. Found at dawn, his courage echoed through every heartbeat that called him family.
