Dar A Luz Birth Services

Dar A Luz Birth Services As a birth doula, I provide moms (and partners) continuous physical, emotional, and educational support.

My name is Vianca Vargas and I am a birth doula in the Southern New Jersey region. As a birth doula, I provide moms (and partners) continuous physical, emotional, and educational support throughout their pregnancy, during labor, and in the first few weeks after birth. Countless scientific trials have shown that mothers who have a doula present during their labors are less likely to need Pitocin, pain medication, and C-Section. They are also more likely to rate higher overall birth satisfaction. Contact me now to learn more about how I can help your family navigate one of the most magical times of your life! Are you interested in having a birth doula but are afraid you can't afford one? Contact me now and we can work out a sliding-scale fee for my services. Every mother should have the benefits of having a birth doula regardless of financial situation.

right? Moms don't need another baby blanket or onesie or someone to come over and be entertained. They need to be in bed, with baby, and nourishing food. Not worrying about the laundry, making dinner, work, entertaining guests, etc.

Many people call the trip they take during pregnancy their "baby moon." Actually, the baby moon refers to the early postpartum time of lying in. How can you plan for your postpartum baby moon?

Taking time in bed to recover after giving birth (no matter what type of birth you had and no matter how easy or difficult it was) can have a profound positive effect on long-term healing and recovery.

Have you worried that your newborn fell asleep hungry after breastfeeding? ๐Ÿคฑ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿคฑ๐Ÿป๐Ÿคฑ๐Ÿผ
"When a baby is hungry, he tends to clench his fists tightly and bring them toward his face. If he falls asleep hungry, his fists usually stay clenched. But when he gets milk, he relaxes starting with his face. Then his shoulders relax, and finally those fists unclench. Eventually they're as limp as the rest of him. Think of his hands as a built-in fuel gauge." -- La Leche League's Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, 8th edition

There are exceptions to every rule and this is only one tool in your toolbox. This rule should be used for healthy, full-term newborns. If your newborn is listless and difficult to wake, consulting with your healthcare provider to rule out extenuating circumstances is recommended.

Amazing ! ๐Ÿ˜

Look at this amazing twin cord! I am in awe of how intricate the umbilical cord is and how it can withstand true knots like this. Due to what is called Wharton's Jelly, in most cases, the cord can get a knot and still be able to provide oxygen and nutrients to the developing baby. So cool.

This is a wonderful birthing position that women frequently and instinctively take when not encumbered by someone elseโ€™s rules about where and how they should give birth. The sacrum, ischial tuberosities and soft connective tissues are are freely moving, opening the bottom (outlet) of the pelvis allowing baby to pass through more easily and quickly. The woman can reach down and feel her tissues stretching, guiding the birth of her baby. From here she can move into hands and knees, an asymmetrical lunge, reclining or even standingโ€”whatever her body instinctively does to assist her baby. They are one. They labor in concert. They are born together.
