Valerie S Carr, LCSW is a seasoned clinician with more than 35 years’ experience in the field of human services. Valerie has served individuals and families with mental health, substance abuse and related concerns at all levels of care in both the public and private sector and in every role from direct services, to clinical supervision, to program directorship and facility administration. Valerie earned her BA in Social Work and Psychology from the University of South Dakota in 1985 and her Master’s in Social Work from the prestigious Jordan Institute for Families at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1996. Following the requisite two-year clinical internship and passing the ASWB Clinical Exam, Valerie first became a LCSW in 1998 in North Carolina and subsequently held concurrent licenses in North Carolina, Colorado, and Florida. Valerie has maintained a continuously active Florida license since 2004 and earned her certification as a Florida Qualified Supervisor in 2014, a credential which authorizes her to provide clinical supervision to LCSW interns seeking their first licensure.
