Anger is not a “bad” emotion! Being angry is usually a sign that something bigger is going on. What is your anger telling you??

Anger is a very common secondary emotion - meaning that it masks other emotions. ⁣

Tofays post is about some situations that could be lurking underneath anger. ⁣

How do you work through anger? ⁣

1. Identify the root cause - do any of these points resonate with you? ⁣

2. Pause and breathe instead of automatically responding. ⁣

2. Determine what is in your control and what is outside of your control.⁣

4. List different options/solutions. Determine pros and cons and rank your values to help you pick a course of action. ⁣

3. Take action to: ask for change from someone, express your feelings, offer an apology, journal to process your feelings, or work on acceptance (and letting go of the anger). ⁣

Self reflecting on the anger you are holding on to can help you recognize when the anger is not serving you anymore. It can be the first step towards setting yourself free or finding more productive ways to cope 💜⁣

Deep breathing is something I practice often and usually one of the first coping skills I use. I wasn’t always a big believer in deep breathing. I used to think it meant taking a big “deep breath” in and frustratedly huffing it out as quickly as I could. Understandably, that never made me feel any better. No one actually taught me how to use deep breathing as a regular practice and helpful coping skill until I was a senior in high school. I wish someone had helped me sooner… I made a video explaining how I use deep breathing now in the hopes someone finds it helpful!

Happy Friday! I had a different video planned to share, but wasn’t able to get it to post this week or last. However, I saw this self-esteem song on social media and it has been on repeat in my mind for a few days now. I felt like today might be a good time to share it with you all! All too often we speak unkindly to ourselves about ourselves. We can turn into our own worst critic very quickly, so it’s very important to be mindful of your inner dialogue. Doing daily positive affirmations is a great place to start if you realize you’ve been spending more time beating yourself up than cheering yourself on. This creator did an awesome job turning their positive self-talk into a sweet song! What are some ways you can show yourself kindness this weekend?

✨ Which affirmation are you needing this week? Comment an emoji 👇

🧡 You are loved
🍂 You will get through this
🖤 Your feelings are valid
👻 It’s okay to feel sad
🤍 Everything will be okay
🎃 Your worth is not measured by your productivity

Responding to someone else in the comments with some love and kindness is encouraged 💗

Do you have trouble sitting still? Me too. Theres something for everyone in the fidget basket! So many different colors, shapes, functions, and textures. Need to get up and stretch, do some jumping jacks, or shake it off? Go ahead. I just might join you! Using fidget toys and body movement are just a couple ways to help redirect some of that energy. This might make it easier to stay focused or to get comfortable when talking through some pretty hard things.

“Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.” -Mark Twain

Trying new things can be intimidating! It’s perfectly understandable to want to do well at the things we put our time and energy into, but sometimes the fear that we may not be good enough prevents us from even trying. No one starts out at their best. Is your expectation of perfection holding you back from trying something new?

Change can be a good thing! There are a couple little changes coming, but one of the most exciting (in my opinion) is the new office layout. A little rearranging and some creative switches make me feel like I have a whole new space and I am very excited to share it!

Now that my office space changes have been completed, I am on to the next project and planning to be more active on social media. I am hoping to connect with more people in the community, share helpful information, and spread overall good vibes.
