🏃‍♂️CLIENT WIN WEDNESDAY🏃‍♂️

This week we’re celebrating Will and an incredible race-day breakthrough.

We first met Will at a local race when he mentioned he’d been dealing with calf pain for several months that was starting to hold him back in training. With the Oak Mountain 50k just around the corner, he came in for a session to get things checked out.

After some dry needling and a few targeted stretches to keep his calf happy, Will put the work into his training and showed up ready to race.

The result?
🏃‍♂️ Oak Mountain 50k Finish Time: 6:20:21
⏱️ Previous 50k PR (last fall): 7:19:38

That’s almost a full hour PR - and he ran the entire race pain-free!!

This is a perfect example of what can happen when a dedicated athlete puts in the work and gets the right support along the way. We’re proud we could play a small role, but the real credit goes to Will and the training he put in to make this happen.

Huge congratulations on the PR, Will. That’s a massive accomplishment. 👏🔥

🏃🏻‍♀️ CLIENT WIN WEDNESDAY 🏃🏻‍♀️

This week, we’re spotlighting Sara - and her comeback story. At the start of the year, she was stuck in a frustrating cycle:

Rest → try to run → pain returns → sidelined again.

After months of dealing with a high hamstring injury, Sara was feeling defeated. As a runner and triathlete, not being able to run wasn’t just inconvenient - it was devastating. 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🚲 🏊‍♀️

But instead of continuing that cycle, Sara made a decision: she was ready to do something different. She committed to the process. She stayed consistent. She leaned into the work - even when it wasn’t easy.
With guidance from Dr. Anthony, Sara followed a plan built specifically for her:

✔️ A strength program tailored to her needs
✔️ Gradual progression to rebuild confidence and capacity
✔️ Dry needling to help reduce pain
✔️ Run form adjustments to support long-term success

And most importantly - she took the time to understand the why behind what she was doing, which allowed her to fully buy into the process. Here’s what Sara had to say about her journey:

Sara raced the Blackwater 10 Mile Trail Run this past weekend and absolutely crushed it:

🥉 3rd in her age group (out of 28)
💪 6th overall female (out of 73)

From sidelined… to pain-free… to a podium finish… to chasing an Ironman.

That’s what’s possible when you stay committed - even when things feel frustrating.

We’re excited to officially welcome Sarah Rexwinkle to the SWELL team as our new Performance Strength Coach! 💪

Sarah is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and an experienced Personal Trainer who specializes in helping active adults and athletes build strength, move better, and perform at a higher level - without breaking down their bodies in the process.

What Sarah Will Be Offering at SWELL

✔️ 1-on-1 Personal Training
Starting February 24th, Sarah will be offering individualized strength and performance training tailored to your goals - whether that’s running faster, lifting smarter, or simply feeling stronger and more confident in your body.

✔️ Small Group Training (Runner-Specific)
Starting February 24th, Sarah will be leading a 12-week, twice a week, Runner-Specific Small Group Training Program designed specifically for runners who want to improve performance and reduce injury risk.

Small Group Training Class Options
(Tuesdays & Thursdays):
• 5:00-6:00 AM
• 4:15-5:15 PM
• 5:30-6:30 PM

🏃‍♂️Why Runner-Specific Strength Training Matters:
Most runners know they should strength train - but many don’t know what to do or how to do it without feeling sore, bulky, or beat up.

This program is built to:
🔹Improve running efficiency and speed
🔸Increase strength without unnecessary fatigue
🔹Reduce common running injuries (hips, knees, calves, shins, back)
🔸Build durability so your body keeps up with your training
🔹Complement - not compete with - your running schedule

You’ll train in a small group setting, meaning you get individualized coaching and proper form correction, while still benefiting from the energy and accountability of training with other runners.

🏃‍♂️ CLIENT WIN WEDNESDAY 🏃‍♂️

TJ came to while actively training for a marathon after developing leg pain that flared up during a half marathon. His goal was simple: get the pain addressed without derailing his training ‼️

After a full running gait analysis, combined with dry needling, targeted manipulations, and individualized corrective exercises, we focused on pain relief and improving his running efficiency. 🦵

And this past weekend… TJ showed exactly what that work can lead to👇

🏁 Race 1: Safari 5K (1/24/26)
➡️ 5K PR: 20:25 (previous best: 21:27)

🏁 Race 2: Big Beach Marathon (1/25/26)
➡️ Marathon PR: 3:49:12 (previous PR: 3:49:45)

➡️ Same course as last year… over an HOUR faster than his 4:56:33 finish 🤯

All of this happened 24 hours apart, after taking 2 weeks off during a training block.

This is what happens when you address the root cause, clean up mechanics, and train smarter-not just harder. Huge shoutout to TJ for trusting the process and putting in the work!
