We see firsthand how preventable eye injuries can impact kids. When choosing toys and gifts this holiday season, here are a few safety tips to consider in recognition of Safe Toys & Gifts Month:
🧸 Choose age-appropriate toys. Items with sharp edges or small detachable parts can pose a risk to younger children.
🔍 Avoid toys that shoot projectiles. Even low-velocity toys can cause significant eye injuries.
🎨 Look for non-toxic labels on art supplies and avoid items that could irritate the eyes.
🔭 Encourage vision-friendly toys. Puzzles, building sets, and craft kits support visual development without unnecessary risk.
