Let’s acknowledge the narrative that “becoming a beauty provider means you’ve settled into a career”
In fact, after having a successful business for over a year my dad asked me when I’d be going back to college to choose “a real career”
It wasn’t until he realized I can make a higher salary than some engineers, lawyers, dentists and other professions that take years of college education that I have achieved with this “little lash business”
I had my first job at 16 and have been working ever since. I realized pretty quickly I would not sustain happiness working without having some control over my own life. Being able to create my working schedule AND how much I get paid when I work is something I am so grateful for within this industry🙏🏼
We spend so much time working - we better enjoy what we are doing! No one wants to feel burnt out 💗 always find that balance of both when you can , and I found that within becoming an independent lash tech at 22! 🥹
5 years in the industry and never once have I felt that I settled into this career- if anything it is an industry that continues to uplift women and give us the opportunity to BE THE BOSS!!
