IN MEMORIAM: OADN FOUNDATION PAST DIRECTOR JODI PARKS DOYLE, 1992-2015

Verine Jo (Jodi) Parks-Doyle, a resident of Peyton, Colorado since 2002, passed away quietly at Denver Memorial Hospital following a significant stroke. Dr. Parks served as a Director on the N-OADN Foundation (now OADN) from 1992-2015. She was a past president of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing, serving this role from 1990-1992. She was active in the National League for Nursing (NLN), and served as Chairperson of the Council of Associate Degree Programs Executive Committee from 1997 – 1999. Other professional activities involved membership in the American Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association, & Colorado Nurses Association. She attended National Nurses Day luncheons at the White House sponsored by first ladies Barbara Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Faculty and Student Scholarship Opportunities!! Please share these opportunities with your students and faculty!

ADN Student Scholarship Opportunities: The National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing Foundation (N-OADN F) provides annual scholarships to students in associate degree nursing programs!

ADN Faculty Scholarship Opportunities: "Is This You?" Maybe you are a dean or program chair; perhaps you are faculty; or you could also be a graduate student working on an advanced degree. If so, this is for YOU! The N-OADN Foundation has you in mind for scholarships and grants.

N-OADN Convention Scholarships: The Pocket Nurse N-OADN Foundation Convention Scholarship was established to provide assistance to members of the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (N-OADN) who wish to attend the N-OADN Annual Convention Each Scholarship is a $1200 award that can be used for N-OADN Convention registration fees, lodging, and other travel costs related to the convention. Individual and Agency N-OADN members are eligible for the Scholarship.

Educator of the Year Award: The N-OADN Foundation Educator of the Year Award is sponsored by Elsevier and recognizes overall excellence in associate degree nursing education. The Award is presented annually at the Awards Gala held in conjunction with the N-OADN convention. To nominate an educator for the Educator of the Year Award, Nominate a colleague as Educator of the Year!!

Deadline for Scholarships & Awards: May 1, 2014

ADN Research Grant: The N-OADN Foundation offers research grant funding through its Research Grant Program. The objective of this grant funding is to promote the implementation and publication of research related to associate degree nursing education and practice. Deadline to submit is September 1, 2014
Complete an application for a scholarship for a student or yourself; submit a request for grant funding for your research study.

We love to give away our money, and to recognize the tremendous job that faculty do in educating this next generation of nurses.
