Whether you’ve been a leader for one day or one decade, I bet you can relate...
There was a time when I got knocked off my feet by unexpected criticism and accusations that took the wind right out of me. My head was spinning. I was hurt, angry, embarrassed, and questioning everything. I wanted to run as far away and as fast as I could.
Because when your integrity is questioned - especially when you know your heart, your intentions, and your work ethic - it cuts deep.
But leadership isn’t about standing tall when everything is easy. It’s about what you do when the wind gets knocked out of you.
In that moment, I had to remind myself not only who I am - but whose I am.
I had to remember that my identity is not defined by someone else’s perception, but by the God who called me to serve, to lead, and to walk in integrity.
I had to stand in boldness. Not arrogance. Not defensiveness. But quiet, steady confidence in the truth.
I also had to remember the people who rely on me. The people who look to me for guidance, stability, and to lead by example. Leadership isn’t just about personal feelings - it’s about stewardship.
So I chose integrity.
I chose honesty.
I chose to keep showing up.
Not because it was easy, but because it was right.
Real leadership means serving with integrity even when your heart is heavy. It means staying faithful to your calling, even when you’re misunderstood. It means refusing to run when things get hard.
If you’re in a season where your integrity has been questioned or your spirit feels shaken, hold the line.
You know who you are.
And more importantly, you know whose you are.
Lead from that place. Always.
