Glaucoma is a disease in which the intraocular pressure is high enough to cause damage to the optic nerve. It can vary individually as to what pressure can damage an optic nerve. In some cases, a very high pressure is required to damage an optic nerve, however in other cases, a “normal” pressure can damage a weak or compromised optic nerve. Do you practice 20-20-20 at work? This rule helps you protect your vision by asking you to look at least 20 feet away from your computer screen, every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds each time. Doing so prevents eyestrain, blurry vision, dry eyes, headaches and poor distance vision.
