A great day spent at two great events! Outdoors downtown with our friends at Pensacola Young Professionals and so many great fellow nonprofits. And indoors with the PCS Outreach Ministries Invest in You Expo at Brownsville Community Center. So many great organizations together in service of the people of Pensacola and Northwest Florida.

📢 Waterfront Rescue Mission Opens Cold Weather Shelter March 16

With temperatures below 40 degrees expected for Escambia County Monday, March 16, Waterfront Rescue Mission will open its doors to those seeking refuge from the cold beginning at 3:30 p.m. Waterfront will remain open as a cold weather shelter during the day when temperatures are below 40 degrees. Waterfront Rescue Mission is located at 348 West Herman Ave. in Pensacola.

The shelter will accommodate men and women without children. Waterfront will work with community partners to accommodate women with children seeking shelter. If no community partner is able to provide shelter, Waterfront will ensure that anyone seeking refuge from the cold will have a safe place to stay.

We're happy to do our part in providing physicals for high school students. Our clinic at Pine Forest High School - Pensacola, Florida and our mobile medical units make that a reality. And including ECG tests has proven to be a life-saving measure.

A new state law requires ECGs and physicals for all high schoolers who have never played an FHSSA sport. Here's where your student can go.

Grants are extremely important for an organization like ours, and Walter has played an extremely important part in that space for years. He's also a fierce advocate for the homeless and for mental-health and community-health access.

Thanks everyone who helped make our 2026 Wellness Reset such a success! The biggest hurdle of any healthcare journey is just taking that first step, and today's event not only included full screenings, it also helped navigate through insurance and scheduling — and introduced patients to a few of our incredible partners.

Those included Help Me Grow Escambia, Escambia County Healthy Start Coalition, Florida Blue, and Northwest Florida Cancer Control Collaborative!

And we can't say enough about our Health Ambassadors from C.A. Weis Elementary School!

🌟 Meet Brettanie Smidt, FNP — seeing patients at our Jackson Street and Palafox locations!

Brettanie brought something special when she joined the CHNWF family in 2024 — 12 years of emergency room experience as a registered nurse. That background gave her a unique ability to listen closely, think quickly, and care for patients with all kinds of medical needs and histories.

In 2024, she took the next step, earning her Master's in Nursing from Chamberlain University (she earned her Bachelor's in 2019) — because she wanted to do even more for her patients.

"I chose to continue my education and become a provider as a way to help others. I want to change the way we treat patients and give the best care possible."
