Grounding isn't just a buzzword.

When your nervous system is dysregulated...when you're anxious, numb, or stuck in survival mode, your body has literally left the present moment. You're living in past threats or future fears. Your feet aren't on the ground. Your attention is scattered.

Grounding brings you home.

A simple practice: Take off your shoes. Feel the grass or earth beneath your feet. Notice the temperature. The texture. The support. Stay for 2-3 minutes. Just feel.

This isn't magical. It's neuroscience. When your feet touch the earth and your nervous system registers safety, your brain gets the signal: "You're here. You're okay. You can soften."

I encourage the women I work with do this daily now. Some do it before a stressful meeting. Some do it first thing in the morning. Some do it when anxiety creeps in at night.

The earth is always there, waiting to help you come home to yourself.

Your body holds wisdom you may have forgotten in the rush to survive.

When we're overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in chronic pain, our nervous system learns to protect us by shutting down, numbing sensation, disconnecting us from joy, keeping us small. It's not a flaw. It's survival.

But here's what's possible: gentle reconnection. Slow, safe, at your own pace.

Through trauma-informed yoga and somatic practices, you can learn to listen to your body again. To feel the ground beneath you. To notice where you're holding tension and slowly, softly, let it go. To remember what joy feels like in your bones.

This isn't about flexibility or perfect poses. It's about coming home to yourself.
