Namaste. I’m Jan, a spirited being, lover of life and longtime yogi. I hope this finds you healthy, happy, and peaceful. I believe in the universal goodness of all living beings and that we are all here to serve a purpose. For most of us, seeking this purpose is a lifelong process. My life journey has been an adventure that has been one shaded with all the colors of the rainbow, with varying intensity at different times. I like to say that life is just one big lesson after another and I consider myself a student of life, always open to its infinite possibilities and I've come to learn that what I see is already within me. Yoga has been a part of my life journey for over 20 years, always helping me to stay grounded, reminding me to breathe, and bringing me back to my center when life starts to unravel. Yoga is holistic and deeply healing for the mind, body, and soul. After raising 2 kids and sending them off into the world, I embarked on the journey of living my yoga and received my 200 Hour teaching certificate from Sacred Moon Yoga School in 2021. Shortly after, I was called to India where I studied Yin Yoga and received my 100 Hour Yin Yoga teaching certificate from Shree Hari Yoga India. In January 2023, I completed my 300 Hour training in Holistic Yoga Therapy at Adi Yogpeeth Yoga School in Rishikesh India, which was based on the tradition and foundations of Hatha Yoga. I also have received my sound healing certification with Nada Shakti at Devi Music Ashram, also located in Rishikesh. This was a life changing experience as it reignited my passion for yoga and my desire to share yoga’s healing benefits to people everywhere. The yogic path is also a spiritual one, which can lead you to a higher level of self-awareness, self-trust, and self-love. Yoga brings balance and harmony to life and my personal practice has guided me to live my highest truth and to embrace understanding and compassion for all. I believe yoga is for everybody—and every BODY—and I want to help make it accessible to all. It is my honor to share the practice of yoga with you and I hope I can be a support for you on your own life journey. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey, without judgment or fear. I want to provide a safe space for you to explore yoga, connect and move with your breath, and honor your truth. I invite you to join me in practice. Come as you are and let us learn together. This foundational class is based on the traditions and principles of Hatha Yoga. The name "Hatha" comes from the Sanskrit words "ha" (sun) and "tha" (moon), symbolizing the balance between the body and mind. It is a slower-paced physical practice that emphasizes holding poses, with focus on alignment, breath, and mind-body connection. Beyond the physical practice, this class will also explore broader yoga philosophy, breathwork, meditation and the 8-Limbs of Yoga on a deeper level.

I am excited and honored to be hosting a 3-week Yin Yoga and Mindfulness series at Lotus of Ludington starting this coming Thursday, November 6 at 7pm. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and practicing yoga together. Join me for this amazing practice of long held poses and inner stillness. As the autumn readies for the stillness of winter, we can take cues from nature to bring ourselves into alignment and prepare for a season of rest and nurturing. 🙏

Namaste. My name is Jan Moore and I have been studying and practicing yoga for many
years. I view yoga as a way of life, and I am passionate about living my yoga and sharing it
with others. I believe with consistent practice, yoga can lead to a more harmonious, balanced
and conscious life. After 25 years in the corporate world, I felt a strong calling to pursue yoga
on a deeper level which led me to India where I received my training and certification to teach
Hatha Yoga. The Yoga Therapy program I studied also included Ayurveda (yoga’s sister
practice in wellness), Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation. As a complement to Hatha
Yoga, I am also certified to teach Yin Yoga, a slower and more meditative yoga practice,
targeting the connective tissues and joints in the body.
As a forever student, I also draw on my life experiences and nature for inspiration for my
classes and believe deeply that yoga can be a source of healing for the body, mind and spirit. I
thrive on authenticity and wholeness. When I’m off my mat, I enjoy traveling and learning new
things, being in nature, and sitting by the fire.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am so excited to announce the grand opening of a new yoga studio in Hart this November. This is the vision and creation of my good friend Cindy Beth Davis-Dykema, who has been sharing yoga with this area for years. It brings me so much joy to share that I will be teaching here Monday mornings (Hatha Foundations) and Wednesday evenings (Yin and Mindfulness).

Follow Monarch for exciting news about classes and other offerings. Oh and I am sooooo exited that the offering will include a Qi Gong class! So much goodness in one space!

Our new floors are in and we’re in awe. 🤩

This is where you can find me for yoga these days. I’m excited to be a part of this community, sharing yoga and meeting new friends. This community has welcomed me with open arms and heart and I am humbled and grateful beyond words.

TUESDAYS: 8:30am - 9:30am Oceana County Council on Aging (OCCOA)- Yin + Mindfulness
FRIDAYS: 10:15am - 11:15am OCCOA - Gentle Hatha

WEDNESDAYS: 7:00pm - 8:15pm at EnerG Fitness - Yin + Mindfulness

If you’re in the area, there is also an amazing beach yoga class every weekday from 9:30-10:30am at Mears State Park with Cindy Beth. And give me a holler if you do. I’d love to meet up!
