✨ Brighten Your Smile Safely & Effectively!

A radiant smile can boost your confidence and make a lasting first impression. This is one of my favorite treatments in the dentistry profession. The results are always clear, identifiable, and continually rewarding.

Coffee, wine, and aging can dull teeth—but whitening restores confidence.

Here are 3 prove whitening options:

1️⃣ Whitening Strips
✔ Easy, peroxide-based gel
✔ 1–2 shades lighter in 2 weeks
✔ Lasts 3–6 months

2️⃣ Custom Bleaching Trays
✔ Dentist-made trays
✔ 2–4 shades lighter in 1–2 weeks
✔ Lasts 6–12 months

3️⃣ In-Office Whitening
✔ Fastest results
✔ Up to 8 shades lighter in 1 visit
✔ Lasts 1–3 years

💡 Tip: Always consult your dentist for safe, lasting results!

Common Questions About Teeth Whitening Treatments:

Does Whitening Damage Teeth?

When performed correctly, whitening does not damage enamel. Peroxide targets surface stains and internal pigments, not the tooth structure. Overuse or ill-fitting trays can lead to temporary sensitivity or gum irritation.

Is There Recommended Age For Whitening?

Professional whitening is best for patients 18 years and older, once all permanent teeth have erupted. Younger enamel tends to whiten faster, while older enamel may require longer exposure or higher concentrations.

Why Do Some Teeth Whiten Better Than Others?

Natural tooth color plays a big role in whitening success:

• Creamy or yellow shades respond very well, showing dramatic results.

• Gray or bluish undertones (often from tetracycline staining or aging) are more resistant and may require several sessions or cosmetic alternatives such as veneers.

Title: The F-Word: Flossing in Dentistry

When most people hear the word floss, they might cringe a little—it’s the “F-word” of dentistry that everyone knows they should be doing but often forgets. Yet, this simple habit can make the difference between a healthy smile and one that struggles with decay, gum disease, and bad breath.

Why Floss?

Brushing cleans the visible surfaces of your teeth, but it only reaches about 60% of the total surface area. The remaining 40%—the tight spaces between your teeth—is where plaque, food debris, and bacteria thrive.

Plaque that sits between teeth hardens into tartar, which can only be removed by a professional cleaning. Over time, this buildup irritates the gums, leading to gingivitis (early gum disease) and, if ignored, periodontitis, a serious infection that can cause tooth loss.

How Often Should We Floss?

The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends flossing once a day. The key is consistency, not perfection.

Tools of the Trade: Finding the Right Floss for You

Flossing doesn’t have to mean wrestling with a piece of waxed string anymore. Today’s tools make it easier and more comfortable for everyone.
• Traditional String Floss:
Available in waxed, unwaxed, or tape-style varieties, this is the classic option. It offers great control and slides easily between tight teeth when used correctly.
• Floss Picks:
These small plastic tools hold a short piece of floss taut between two prongs. They’re convenient for on-the-go use or for those with limited dexterity.

NEW SERIES: Dr. Bader's Top Tips!

Episode #1: Dr. Bader’s Top Toothbrush Tips: What She Recommends (and Uses Herself)

(Direct article written by Dr. Sharon Bader DDS herself)

"One of the most common questions I get: “What’s the best toothbrush?”

The truth? It’s the one you’ll use consistently and correctly.

That said, I’ve used a Sonicare for over 30 years — and I still recommend rotary or sonic electric brushes to my patients. Why?

They do the work for you — no scrubbing needed Help prevent enamel wear and gum recession Small brush heads = better access to molars and gumlines Pair with soft or sensitive brush heads to protect your enamel.

Technique matters too: • Brush twice daily for 2 minutes • Use gentle pressure — let the brush glide • Don’t forget your tongue (yes, with toothpaste!)

Bottom line: A quality electric toothbrush + good habits healthier, brighter smile."

Lake Pleasant Dentistry has completed a new episode of the critically acclaimed New Series: Dental Care Enhanced by Love, Artificial Intelligence, and the Human Spirit. This hugely successful viral series showcases the most critical components of the human experience with Dental Care.

Episode #6:

😁 The 6 Most Important Qualities of Attractive Smiles.

A.I. data analysis harvested from databases across the internet have identified these 6 key qualities that make smiles attractive:

1. Tooth Color
Bright, white teeth signal health, youth, and confidence.

Whitening treatments or veneers restore brilliance.

2. Gum Display
A balanced gum-to-tooth ratio enhances symmetry.

Gum contouring creates a more harmonious smile line.

3. Tooth Alignment
Straight teeth are visually appealing and easier to clean.

Orthodontic options like clear aligners offer discreet correction.

4. Tooth Size and Shape
Proportional teeth complement facial features.

Cosmetic bonding or reshaping refines contours.

5. Lip Symmetry
Lips frame the smile and influence its overall impact.

Subtle enhancements can improve balance and expression.

6. Facial Harmony
A great smile fits naturally within the face’s proportions.

The goal is a cohesive, confident look—not just perfect teeth.

🌟 At Lake Pleasant Dentistry, Dr. Sharon Bader and her expert team specialize in crafting smiles that reflect all six of these essential qualities.
