Getting back to everyday life after surgery takes more than time. It takes the right care and a plan that works.
When Sharon began therapy at OSF Rehabilitation in Sycamore, she was recovering from shoulder surgery and facing the early challenges of healing.
Her physical therapist, Alex, focused first on pain management and then on restoring her range of motion and strength. Around six to eight weeks into recovery, with the support of her at-home exercises, Sharon began to see meaningful progress as she regained movement and independence.
“At OSF, we create goals based on each patient’s needs and work toward helping them return to daily life,” Alex shared. “When care is convenient, patients are more consistent and outcomes improve.”
For those putting off therapy, Alex encourages learning about the benefits and making an informed decision based on personal needs.
