At just 22, Savanna Christensen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer – twice. Treatment brought uncertainty, fear and the heartbreaking news that she might never become a mom.

But Savanna never stopped hoping. With the support of her OSF HealthCare oncology team, she kept fighting. In 2023, three months after marrying the love of her life, she received the miracle she never thought possible: a positive pregnancy test.

In April 2024, baby Mabel arrived. Today, Savanna is over three years cancer-free and living her dream of motherhood.

Stories like Savanna’s happen because of compassionate care – and because of donors who choose to give hope.

Your gift helps more patients find their own miracles.

You may wonder why your care team asks you questions at – or before – your appointment that you didn’t expect, like, “How often do you have a drink containing alcohol?”

This is because we care about you, and we know that your overall health is about more than just your heart rate and blood pressure. It’s also about the external factors that influence it.

By getting a better understanding of your life, we can help to address different things that may be impacting your well-being, like alcohol consumption and its effect on your health.
