"Bailey Smith graduated from Grand Canyon University with an undergraduate degree in biology and then completed the physician assistant program at Midwestern University. He was born in South Carolina, but raised in Peoria, Arizona. Prior to PA school he worked as a medical scribe in the ED at St. Joseph's Hospital and then as a patient care technician for Deer Valley Medical Center. He is extremely passionate about pediatric medicine and preventative care!

Outside of medicine, he has been happily married since 2021, is active in his church, and enjoys traveling, exercising, camping, golfing and spending time with family!"

"Dr. Nelson is a board-certified pediatrician excited to join the Pleasant Pediatrics team! She grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis before attending college at the University of Notre Dame, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pre-professional studies. She then attended medical school at ATSU, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, including 2 years of clinical rotations here in Arizona. After completing her pediatric residency at St. Louis University in 2021, she was happy to return to sunny AZ! Outside of the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and watching Notre Dame football (go Irish!)."

"Amber Mills, PA-C, graduated from Northern Arizona University- Phoenix in August 2023 with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Amber also attended NAU-Flagstaff for her undergraduate studies, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science in 2019. Prior to PA school, she worked as a nursing assistant and part time substitute teacher.

Amber has always known she wanted to work with pediatric populations due to her work and volunteer experience prior to PA school. However, this passion was solidified during her training while rotating in a pediatric clinic, as well as the pediatric emergency room.

Outside of work, she spends most of her time reading, hiking, or spending time with her friends and family. She is greatly excited to be a part of the Pleasant Pediatrics team!"

"Dr. Baker grew up in both Minnesota and Arizona. From a young age, she knew that she wanted to become a doctor with a passion for newborns and young infants. She completed her undergraduate studies and her Master's degree in the Science of Healthcare Delivery at Arizona State University. She then spent some time in Milwaukee furthering her medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Baker completed her residency with Phoenix Children's Hospital Residency Program Alliance in Phoenix, Arizona. Her professional interests center on newborn care, parental education and empowerment, and preventative medicine. She enjoys building rapport with many of her patients and promoting the human connection in medicine.

Outside of her career, Dr. Baker enjoys spending quality time with her husband and young children, running on desert trails, and can always be found with a cup of coffee and a good book."
