Diana Hall, owner of Bard Optical bought the business from Arthur Bard in 1981. Ms. Hall has grown the business from a one-office location to serving Central and Southern Illinois with 21 offices.
Bard Optical’s mission is to help our patients preserve and improve the health of their eyes. Our company motto is “Vision for Life” because our offices are family vision centers designed to provide crucial evaluations and treatments of eye health issues for patients ranging in age from 2 to 102. Selling glasses and contact lenses is secondary to developing a lifelong relationship with our patients as their eye doctors. Whether it is a child’s first eye health examination or a senior citizen who is coming back to us following cataract surgery, all of our patients are given individual attention to ensure we are able to educate them and assist them in managing the health of their eyes.
Bard Optical’s Optometrists are highly skilled doctors who diagnose diseases, remove foreign bodies, prescribe medication, fit contact lenses and evaluate the vision correction needed for each patient. Unlike doctors who work for national chains or box stores, our Optometrists have access to extended medical testing equipment to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. We co-manage surgical patients with outside medical doctors to provide our patients with a continuity of care.
Our staff is uniquely trained to help guide patients through important pre-testing, to assist our Optometrists in the exam lane and to dispense products, including designer eyewear and a wide variety of contact lenses.
Bard Optical’s patients are our friends and neighbors. For that reason we are committed to providing ALL patients with the same level of care they have come to expect from their family doctors.
