Tomorrow is the start of Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is a time to reflect on how children in our community are impacted by maltreatment. More importantly, it is a time to consider actions to create change. The PRC was born out of this changemaking spirit. When only outstanding medical care for child victims would do, leaders created the Pediatric Resource Center.

There are many ways to support abused and neglected children:
*You can join us in wearing BLUE on April 10th!
*You can participate in www.pinwheel5k.org on April 18th.
*You can make a donation to the PRC or one of the many other programs that support children in our communities.
*You can simply lend a hand to a family in need.

Each one of us has a role to play in child abuse prevention. You can make a significant difference in the life of a child with just one action.

It is Wishlist Wednesday!

When you purchase from our Amazon Wish List, you become part of that circle of protection and support for children and families impacted by child maltreatment. The items you send help us welcome children and their families to our child-friendly setting. Just yesterday, we were able to offer simple granola bars to one of our patient families when they were hungry and exhausted. It made all the difference for this family.

No item is too small – every package that arrives at PRC is a reminder that our community stands with its children. These items help our team to make the process as child-centered as possible.

Join us in celebrating an incredible honor for one of our team members!

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Shilpa Hari, a board-certified Child Abuse Pediatrician with the Pediatric Resource Center, who was recognized as one of the 40 Leaders Under Forty Class of 2025 by WTVP. 40 Under Forty recognizes young leaders who make a positive impact across Central Illinois. Some of our team members joined Shilpa during last night's annual banquet alongside other leaders and 40 Under Forty alumni.

Dr. Shilpa Hari helps to provide child-friendly, specialized services to children from over 50 different counties each year. In addition to clinical services, Dr. Hari is a leader in the education of medical students and residents.
