Love was in the air as Parasols & Petticoats delivered a beautiful Valentine’s fashion performance filled with charm, history, and a delightful twist on tradition. From stunning outfits—including bridal whites and blues to a striking black mourning dress showing how love can turn to grief—each look told a story, with the groom in pursuit throughout. With fascinating stories shared and plenty of style and grace on display, the afternoon was both educational and entertaining, and our residents truly enjoyed every heartfelt moment. 💘

What a powerful afternoon of history brought to life! Our residents enjoyed a special live performance by John Voehl of a tribute to Abe Lincoln, where Voehl delivered an incredible performance showcasing The Gettysburg Address, sharing the words that helped shape this nation. 🙌

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural Luminaria Walk, “The Global Nativity.” As our residents moved through 14 unique nativity displays from around the world, each story offered a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate how the Nativity is honored across cultures. 🤍 The afternoon reflected the heart of our community—bringing residents together in a shared experience that celebrated faith, tradition, and the warmth of the season we enjoy side by side.

Freedom Plaza Peoria was designed, built and originally operated by Robert Roskamp, senior living pioneer and philanthropist. He formed Freedom Plaza Limited Partnership (FPLP) in 1987 and teamed up with Sun Health, an Arizona senior living and community health non-profit organization in a joint venture that strengthened the ownership group.
“Freedom Plaza was the first Life Plan community of its kind”, said Mr. Roskamp. “I’m proud to have led the development of such a strong and vibrant sector of the senior living market.”
FPLP has retained continuous ownership of the Freedom Plaza campus, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. In April, 2018, the Arizona Department of Insurance granted FPLP’s wholly-owned subsidiary a permit to manage the Freedom Plaza campus, previously managed by Brookdale.
