đź’– Today was all about red tutus, big hearts, and beautiful ballet! Our Mission Partners had a blast wearing red tutus for Tutus and Tattoos Tuesday, spreading awareness for Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Month.

We were also thrilled to welcome Peoria Ballet Company, who performed stunning numbers from Swan Lake, coming to the Peoria Civic Center on May 2.

Our team at the Congenital Heart Center cares for every heart, big and small.

💙 Today, our kiddos were wrapped in comfort as Cuddles with Kindness delivered a huge supply of teddy bears to help brighten their day 🧸

This year marks the 17th year Taylor Cole, RN, pediatric intensive care unit, has continued this tradition. Her connection to this moment began when she was a patient here as a child. During a nine-day stay, she received a teddy bear on Valentine’s Day. It was a simple gesture that left a lasting impact.

That experience inspired the creation of Cuddles with Kindness, a nonprofit focused on providing comfort to children facing traumatic situations. Today, Taylor and her organization have delivered thousands of stuffed friends, helping bring comfort, reassurance and smiles to children when they are needed most.

This visit is one of many activities taking place during Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Month, helping spread awareness while reinforcing our commitment to caring for every heart, big and small. đź’™

We are so grateful for Taylor’s compassion and the meaningful moments of comfort she helps create for our patients.

This February, we’re highlighting Mission Partners from the Congenital Heart Center as part of Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Month.

Meet Annette Boyer, supervisor, pediatric intensive care unit. Annette has dedicated 40 years to pediatric critical care, serving as a bedside RN, charge nurse, and now supervisor. She loves being part of a team that provides exceptional care to critically ill children and sees it as a privilege to give of herself through her work.

Outside the unit, Annette enjoys attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events, cheering on the LA Rams, and playing piano and singing.
