While pregnant, Bailey received the news that her son had spina bifida – but there was hope. Just 24 hours after birth, he received his first surgery at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Bailey says the staff have gone above and beyond to help Kane and that OSF Children’s Hospital feels like home.

Brave kids. Bold care.

Every gift you give creates impact – from NICU beds to family support services. Radiothon dollars create miracles for children in Central Illinois.

Tomorrow, we look back at a family who joined us for one of the first radiothons.

Yesterday, we introduced Anadia, whose strength and smile got her through treatment for pseudotumor cerebri. By her side? Her mom, whose love and support never wavered.

ShamRA and her family are grateful for OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. After her daughter Anadia’s diagnosis and treatment, she was inspired to join the OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois Community Advisory Council and give back to the hospital.

Their experience may have been scary at first, but their strength inspires the community to support one another.

Meet Anadia. Her strength and smile remind us why the radiothon matters.

After a long summer day in 2018, Anadia thought she was facing heat exhaustion. But when her symptoms didn’t go away on their own, she started to feel scared and confused. At OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, she underwent multiple tests and was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri — a condition that causes persistent headaches, visual changes, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms, yet has no identifiable cause.

After her diagnosis and treatment, Anadia is now thriving in high school and giving back to the community. She shared, “I will always cherish the excellent care I received at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois.”

Tomorrow, we’ll meet Anadia’s beautiful mother as she recounts her experience.

Your donation can provide the surgical tools needed for children undergoing procedures like Anadia's, as well as books and other items that brighten their day. Donate here: https://bit.ly/4prvmyT

🍽️Eat as you normally would before a large meal to avoid over-indulging
🥦 Bring a fruit or veggie tray
🚶‍➡️Start or end the meal with a family walk

🚨 IDPH Infant Formula Recall Advisory

The Illinois Department of Public Health is recommending parents and guardians stop using recalled Byheart powdered infant formula after two Illinois infants developed symptoms consistent with botulism.

The CDC and FDA are investigating, and two lots of the Byheart formula have been recalled. Anyone who suspects their child may have symptoms should contact their health care provider immediately.
