💙 Reminder: Register for the Congenital Heart Patient Symposium 💙

There is still time to register for the T.O.U.C.H. and OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Congenital Heart Patient Symposium on February 7.

Hosted by the Organization for Understanding Congenital Heart Disease (T.O.U.C.H.) and OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Congenital Heart Center, this annual event focuses on pediatric congenital heart disease and brings together experts, patients and families.

⏰ 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
📍 Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center, 1306 N. Berkley Ave., Peoria

The symposium includes expert presentations on cardiac catheterization, pediatric neurodevelopment and child life services, along with a patient and family panel discussion. Keynote speaker Annamarie Saarinen, co-founder of the Newborn Foundation and Bloom Standard, will also share her experience as a parent of a child born with critical congenital heart disease.

🎅🧱 A little extra holiday magic filled the halls today!

Girl Scout Troop 4162 stopped by to visit with Santa, bringing smiles and cheer along the way. Kids also enjoyed checking out festive LEGO sets displayed throughout the floors, all creatively built by our talented Mission Partners.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day bright for our patients and families. 💚

When moments matter most, compassion and expertise make all the difference.

Daniel Robertson, MD, pediatric surgery, OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, is being recognized by a grateful family whose baby received life-saving care. Their words say it best:

“To put it simply, Dr. Robertson and the TEAM saved our baby! The best part through this experience, was seeing him explain how our daughter’s surgery went well and he found the culprit, with a smile. Words do not do justice to explain the quality of surgeon he is and his excellent bedside manner. I never imagined having to go through anything like this with our baby. To say we are forever grateful, is an understatement. We are so very thankful for Dr. Robertson and he will have a special place in our hearts.”

🎄🚛 Holiday cheer rolled through the hospital! 🚛🎄

Mid-West Truckers Association, Inc. 'Loud and Proud' brought decked-out semi-trailer trucks to the hospital to wish our kids a Merry Christmas.

Drivers delivered gifts to patients and wrapped up the visit with a festive light show and horn blast from the parking lot so children could enjoy the moment right from their windows.

🎅✨ Santa Bill's Hospital Helpers brought holiday cheer today!

Santa Bill arrived aboard a Peoria IL Fire Department fire truck, waving to children from the truck’s aerial ladder at the hospital windows. This year, Santa set up a festive North Pole in the first-floor lobby, giving our kids, families and visitors the chance to meet him and receive gifts.

The lobby was full of smiles, laughter and holiday magic as kids came to see Santa and make memories to last a lifetime.

Thank you, Santa Bill, and the Peoria Fire Department for making the holidays extra special for our patients and families! 🎁❄️🎄

Looking for the perfect pair of glasses for the whole family? 👓 Stop by the OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois Optical Shop, located inside Pediatric Ophthalmology at 4927 N. Glen Park Place, Peoria.

We carry glasses for children and adults, including designer frames such as Dilli Dalli, Gizmo Kids, Nike, Ray-Ban and Vera Bradley. Sports goggles, prescription sunglasses and other eyewear accessories are also available.

Use your flexible spending account before the year ends. Simply bring a current prescription from any outside eye center and find glasses that are just right—no appointment needed.
