Apathy is very common among people living with dementia.

It can look like a loss of interest, motivation, or desire to participate in activities and it can be incredibly frustrating and discouraging for care partners who just want to see their loved one engaged again.

But apathy doesn’t mean your family member can’t connect or enjoy purposeful activities. It simply means their brain needs a different kind of support.
