📖 ✏️ Happy World Dyslexia Awareness Day! 📖 ✏️

Did you know that an estimated 20% of the population has dyslexia? As speech therapists, we are often one of the first to identify the early warning signs because of our expertise in language development. Our work in phonological processing, vocabulary, and language structure is key to building strong readers! On World Dyslexia Day, we want to shine a light on how speech therapists support individuals with dyslexia by:

⭐️ Strengthening the foundational language skills
needed for reading
⭐️ Providing multisensory techniques that
connect sounds and letters
⭐️ Developing phonological awareness skills,
which is key to decoding words
⭐️ By improving core literacy skills, SLPs help
individuals gain confidence and achieve their

💥 Way to go Beau!💥 This little man worked so hard in therapy and achieved some great skills! We are so proud of him!

✨ Myofunctional therapy for the little ones is playful, proactive, and purposeful! When working with children ages 1-4, myofunctional therapy is often about PLAY! Through games, sensory activities, and hands on oral motor and feeding exercises, we address key areas like tongue function, chewing, swallowing, and more. What may look like play, is strategic therapy and every movement has a purpose. Every playful movement is a targeted plan for lasting results 🎯 This is the power of skilled therapy 🩵 🖤🤍

Congratulations on your growth Ian! You literally and figuratively stand taller (than Darriean) now because of your hard work! 🌱 😃 👏🏻

⭐️ GRADUATION TIME ⭐️

This one is pretty bittersweet (they all are, who are we kidding?!). This little babe was working on his feeding and swallowing skills and overall oral function. We worked on strengthening and improving coordination of the muscles in his lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw, which are vital for developing efficient feeding skills, speech, and overall oral health. AND we are happy to report baby is eating better, growing well, and now mom is returning to work! ❤️
Congratulations to Beckett and his family 🥰 👏🏻

We love when pieces come together and goals are met. Watching moms and babes grow together is one of our favorites 💞 👶🏻 🍼 🤱🏼
