PVFGA is proud to announce along with Keith Buswell (youth rifle coach) that.
On Saturday April 4th, 2026, at the Precision Fish and Game Association monthly meeting
Brody Allen of Reading, Vermont received his distinguished expert small bore rifle award.
This award was achieved through the NRA Marksmanship program and is sponsored by
Precision Valley fish and game junior marksmanship program. This program occurred on
Wednesday afternoons starting in December and finishing in April. The requirements to complete this program consists of Promarksman ,Marksman , and Marksman First class are prone only with scores 20 to 30 or better. Sharpshooter consists of prone, sitting, kneeling and offhand with qualifying scores from 30-40, Expert consists of standing with a minimum score of 40 and all of the scores are shot on a single bullseye target at 50 feet, 5 shots in 5 minutes. Distinguished Expert consists of prone and sitting with a minimum score of 18, kneeling and off hand with a minimum score of 16, on a 5 bullseye target, 2 shots at each of the 5 bulls, if any of the scores are below the minimum number they don’t qualify and have to be reshot.
Brody started the program in November of 2018 and completed in February of 2026, congratulations to Brody on this accomplishment.

We are so proud that Brody Allen was able to achieve this honor. We wish him the best with all of his future endeavors. If he works as hard at everything in his life, he will accomplish more than anyone could hope for.

Spring has sprung and its now time for shooting sports outdoors. I'm glad to announce that TRAP will start this Friday April 10 at 5:30. Come on out for the first outdoor club event of the season. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Each string is 25 shots from 5 different positions. Cost is $6 for members and $7 for public. Bring ammo and a shotgun. We supply the clays and automated voice activated trap machine.
If you are a beginner shooting for the first time or a seasoned veteran of the sport, there is fun for all.
If you don't have a shotgun we will have a couple extras for use. Just bring ammo.

PVFGA has a new Gun Raffle to kick off this spring season. We are raffling off a Stoeger P3000 tactical 12 gauge shotgun.
We only have 200 tickets available. $20 a ticket. Buy as many as you want. Drawing at the July meeting. Do not need to be present to win.
