ERIC'S SUCCESS STORY
When strength comes back, life comes back. 💪

After struggling with severe knee pain, Eric underwent two knee replacements and committed to rebuilding what matters most: muscle, movement, and confidence.
With our Muscle Forward approach, the team at Active Life Physical Therapy’s Jacksonville clinic helped him get back to walking, biking, gardening, and keeping up with his grandkids again. Now, Eric is pain free and even planning his next adventure to Alaska! 🏔️
This is what restoring strength can do.

**Free Workshop at the Jacksonville Senior Center: Staying Strong for Everyday Life**

Many injuries don’t happen during exercise — they happen doing everyday things like lifting a laundry basket, carrying groceries, or getting up from the floor.

This Wednesday, Dr Christina Penny will be leading a free educational session at the Jacksonville Senior Center called:

**“Strong Enough for Real Life: Lifting, Carrying, and Everyday Tasks.”**

During this interactive workshop we’ll cover:
• Simple ways to protect your back when lifting
• How to carry groceries and household items safely
• The most important strength movements for staying independent
• Easy exercises that help with balance and everyday tasks

📍 Jacksonville Senior Center
🗓 Wednesday 3/11/26
⏰ 2:30–3:30 PM

If you or a family member are interested in attending, the Jacksonville Senior Center can provide details about participation.

Hope to see some familiar Phoenix neighbors there!

We love celebrating our students — and this one is extra special 💙

Sydney wrapped up her clinical rotation with us on Friday. As she heads into her final year at we couldn’t be more proud of the growth she’s shown.

Here’s what Sydney shared about her time at Active Life:

✨ On her growth:
She learned how to build strong patient rapport and trust while delivering efficient, high-quality care. Throughout the rotation, she became more confident leading treatment sessions, interpreting patient responses, and adapting interventions to meet each patient’s needs. Beyond clinical skills, she discovered more about her independence, her potential, and the kind of PT she is becoming.

✨ On the team experience:
From day one, she felt welcomed into a collaborative and supportive environment. Our team challenged her clinical reasoning, strengthened her skills, and consistently supported her growth — always ready to answer questions and help her become the best PT she can be.

✨ What she’s taking into her first job:
Sydney strengthened her skills in caseload management, independent treatment planning, exercise prescription, manual therapy, and communication. Most importantly, she gained confidence — in her decision-making and in her ability to truly connect with patients.

Sydney, we are so proud of you. Watching you grow into a confident, capable future physical therapist has been such a privilege. Your patients are lucky to have you — and your future clinic will be too.

Good luck in your final year — we can’t wait to see all you accomplish future Dr Sydney Brown! 🎓💙

SUCCESS STORY!
From surgery to the pickle ball court.
Our amazing patient, Karen, is a very active 67-year-old who was playing pickle ball 4–5 times a week before debilitating knee pain began impacting her sleep, daily life, and time on the court. After a total knee replacement in November 2025, she chose Active Life Physical Therapy for her recovery journey.
Through a personalized plan built around her goals, and a whole lot of hard work, she is now back on the pickle ball court, her happy place. ❤️
A huge shout out to Ellen, Georgie, and the entire team at Perry Hall for helping guide her every step of the way!

One day late, but happy last day to our PT student Colin Johnson! He CRUSHED his first clinical rotation, and good luck on the rest of PT school.

On Colin's last day, he presented to our Jacksonville staff on the use of the 3D Whats that strap to challenge our patients for rotational movement. We can wait to use this for our athletes & balance patients!

Back pain doesn’t usually come from one wrong move.
More often, it’s your body telling you it wasn’t ready for the demands you put on it.

Think winter realities ❄️
• Shoveling snow
• Slipping on ice
• Carrying heavy bags in bulky boots

These moments challenge balance, strength, and coordination all at once. When the core, hips, and glutes aren’t pulling their weight, the low back often takes over — and pays the price.

We commonly see recurring back pain linked to:
✔️ Weak hips and glutes
✔️ Poor coordination between the core and pelvis
✔️ Difficulty handling real-world movements like bending, lifting, and twisting

Waiting until pain becomes constant only makes recovery harder. Early physical therapy builds strength, restores confidence, and teaches your body how to handle real-life stress safely.

That’s why we offer Annual Strength Assessments 💪
A quick, proactive check to identify weaknesses or imbalances before they turn into pain or injury — so you can stay active year-round.

Meet Briana Gress, a PTA student from ! 👋 She will be with PTA Ali Burch at our Perry Hall location. Get to know Briana:

💙 Why PT?
Briana was drawn to physical therapy because she loves helping and guiding others toward their physical health and wellness goals—and she has a special fascination with orthopedics, especially post-operative rehab. (Surgeries = fascinating, apparently 👀🦴)

🤸 Fun fact:
She loves a good handstand competition… challenge her at your own risk 😄

🏃‍♀️ How she lives an Active Life:
You’ll find Briana running, golfing, coaching lacrosse, camping, fishing, and hunting when she’s not in the clinic.

We’re excited to have Briana as part of the Active Life team and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make with her passion for ortho rehab and patient care!

👏 Welcome, Briana!
