The time has arrived.

We need to talk about your need to always be productive.

{Guilty!🙋🏼‍♀️ 🫣}

So, this is your sign to TAKE A BREAK.

When you're burning the candle at both ends, your flame will eventually burn out.

It doesn't matter if you LOVE your life, your family, & your job. It can happen to anyone.

So, let's start with a change of scenery, even if it's just going outside. Get out of your office, your house, your car, wherever you spend the majority of your day, and get some fresh air & sunshine.

Next, clear your mind. Forget about your to-do list, your work, and where you have to take the kids next.

Now, rest. Take a nap, meditate, listen to calming sounds, or get lost in a book. Do anything that calms your mind.

Feel better? Good!

Now you have reset your body and you can get back to work.

But, before you do, consider planning at least 24 hours of no responsibility. And plan to do it at least once a month if possible.

You might feel like you have super powers, but you can't do it all. Not without burning out.

So let me say it one more time and a little louder for the people in the back: IT IS OK TO TAKE A BREAK!

Struggling with your weight loss?

You're going to want to save this!

Some foods may seem healthy, and sometimes they kind of are, but there is always a healthier choice.

That's because one is high on the Glycemic Index and one is low on the Glycemic Index.

Foods, such as honey & Cheerios, that are high on the GI can cause this vicious cycle:

Insulin levels skyrocket after eating ➡️alerts the hormonal trigger for hunger ➡️ overeating & weight gain. 👎🏼

Whereas foods like apples & nonfat/no sugar yogurt, that are low on the GI can create a healthier cycle:

Smaller changes that occur more slowly in blood sugar levels➡️ insulin levels are lower ➡️ keeps you fuller longer ➡️ stops you from overeating➡️ hunger hormones are under control. 👍🏼

I'm not saying you have to stop eating honey altogether, because like I always say, everything can be consumed in moderation.

However, if your goal is to lose weight, and you're struggling, try making the swap for a few things to lower the amount of foods in your diet that are high on the Glycemic Index.

You need to hear this today:

Stop trauma dumping onto your friends & family.

That only intensifies negative thoughts, rather than resolving any issues.

Not only that, now you're unloading negative feelings onto your loved ones & bringing them down.

Try this instead:

Hit the gym: Lifting weights is an incredible outlet for stress.

Find a spot that brings you peace & journal: Writing how you feel about the situation is an excellent emotional release.

Go to a quiet place & meditate: Taking deep breaths is a great way to remove negative energy from your body.

All of these suggestions will remove the anger from inside of you, rather than allowing it to linger.

Inhale positivity, exhale negativity.

Sunday is a day of rest, so it's the perfect time for somatic exercise.

These gentle, mindful movements will help improve flexibility & mobility while reducing mental strain.

Remember to take deep breaths, releasing all of your stress & negative thoughts on your exhales.

Follow along in real time, holding each pose for about 15 seconds, then repeat on the other side.

I love a versatile outfit that takes me from:
the gym➡️school dropoff➡️errands.

I am obsessed with exercise dresses & skirts. 👗They are my absolute favorite thing to wear on a work day when the weather gets warm! 🤩

This one has shorts with pockets underneath, which is a must! 🌟

My top has a built in sports bra so it's a tank and a sports bra all in one piece, which is also amazing! 🙌🏼

All workouts are not created equal. 🙅🏼‍♀️

However, different types of exercise have different benefits. ☝🏼

Strength training builds muscle and keeps your bones strong. 🏋🏼‍♀️

Cardio keeps your heart healthy and helps build endurance. 🤸🏼‍♀️

Pilates is excellent for building core strength. 🙇🏼‍♀️

Yoga is great for improving flexibility. 🧘🏼‍♀️

This is why I incorporate a little bit of everything into the routines I create for my clients. 🤌🏼

I add in what each client needs, according to their goals. ⚡

Don't listen to people telling you to stop doing this and start doing that. ✋🏼

Everything has its place. 🙃

Don't just pick one and stick to that. 🚫

Do a mixture of everything for the best results overall! 💪🏼

I took the weekend off from being a personal trainer to turn back into a hairdresser!

Before I was a mom and then a personal trainer, I was a Cosmetologist.

My best friend's daughter got married on Saturday and when I found out (last month) that she was planning to do her bridesmaids' hair, I refused to allow that and offered up my services.

Let me tell you, standing in one spot for 7 straight hours is not the same as moving around while training clients for an hour at a time.

My back, legs, ankles, and feet were all SCREAMING at me by the end of the day.

It was worth all the pain to see our beautiful girl transform into a gorgeous bride!

I am truly grateful for the extra skills I have acquired over the years and always welcome any chance to use them.

It was a lovely weekend and now I will hang up my curling iron, for now, so I can get back to lifting dumbbells.

Lately I have been physically and mentally exhausted.

Completely drained.

I have so much I am trying to juggle at the moment and it is taking every last ounce of energy out of me.

During times like these, no matter how much we try to fight it, it is ok to ask for help.

If you have an amazing tribe of friends & family behind you, like I do, then don't be afraid to turn to them when you need them.

They love you and want to be there for you.

Sometimes it is ok to push through, but not always.

Those are the times that you need to get the help.

Either way, you're showing strength because it takes just as much to ask for help as it does to keep pushing on.
