Words cannot begin to describe how proud I am of Hope Bell and all of her hard work! 🔥

She totally rocked that stage Saturday and I am so happy that I was able to be there to cheer her on. 📣

This woman exudes beauty, grace, & confidence. Not to mention she is one of the kindest humans I have ever met! 💖

It is always a pleasure to work with someone who has a similar mindset as you and understands the sacrifices and commitment that fitness & bodybuilding takes. 🏋🏼‍♀️

Don't skip meals.

Eat if you're hungry.

Eat even if you don't feel hungry, but it is time for a meal.

Forget the rule, "Don't eat if you're not hungry."

What you SHOULD do is learn the difference between eating when you're bored or stressed and eating when your body actually NEEDS fuel.

I am not a fan of any kind of starvation diet. (Just not eating). I think it's awful for your mental health, mostly.

And it's not very sustainable.

Focus on eating 3 balanced meals a day, with the proper amount of protein in each one.

Veggies and fruits are your best friend.

Healthy carbs are not the enemy, especially if you workout regularly.

Listen to your body and always feed it properly.

One question I hear often, when people learn that I am a trainer, is, "Oh, what kind of training do you do?"

I probably have a crazy look on my face because the answer is this: I train according to my clients' needs.

Yes, I mostly focus on strength training with all of them, but different goals call for different types of training.

Personal training isn't one size fits all. One client's routine may be similar to another client's, if they have similar goals, but that's as far as the similarities go.

Clients who are on a weight loss journey receive a different plan than those that are on a journey to build more muscle or gain more strength.

And the one thing that remains constant is the results they all get from being consistent.

When they stick with my program, they continue to make progress.

Do you have a favorite exercise? 💪🏼

I thought about what mine would be and I realized something: I pretty much love any and all compound moves. 😍

If it works multiple muscle groups at the same time, I am all for it. 🏋🏼‍♀️

I'm pretty sure all of my clients can attest to this. 😆

Core workouts always have and always will be my favorite! 🥰

Again, my clients can back this up, although they may disagree. 🤣

I learned this Roll Up Crunch move several years ago, before I became a trainer, when I was doing workouts from the FitOn app . I loved Kenta Seki's core workouts and this is one he did and I have LOVED it ever since! 🤗

🗣️Listen up, ladies & gents: you NEED strength training, especially as you age.

🚨Here's why:

💥Not only does it strengthen your muscles, it also strengthens your bones. (Bye bye, osteoporosis! 👋🏼)

💥The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Build muscle=burn fat. If all you're doing is cardio, you'll never build more muscle. You'll just burn off everything, including muscle.

💥You want to be able to pick up your grandkids when you're 60, right? So, you need to start strengthening those muscles and bones NOW.

🤷🏼‍♀️Need I say more?

🏋🏼‍♀️Pick up those dumbbells and get to work!

New Week + New Month=New Goals

The beginning of the month is a great time to set a new S. M. A. R. T. goal.

These goals are specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable, and timely.

The purpose of them is to keep you from setting the bar too high.

Your fitness goals won't happen overnight. They take time.

When you try to aim for a goal that's too big and don't reach it immediately, you'll get frustrated and most likely give up too soon.

If your MAIN goal is to lose 20 lbs in 6 months, focus on losing 5 lbs by the end of the month.

Celebrating smaller wins along the path to your main goal is the best motivation to keep going.

Hope Bell has been a pleasure to work with on posing for her upcoming bodybuilding competition.

She listens to every word I say, takes the direction extremely well, and immediately applies it.

We have been working on her posing routine for about 9 weeks now, and she is just 1 week away from planting her heels on the stage.

We have definitely made a great team and I have enjoyed every single posing session we have had together.

We aren't done yet, but I am so proud of all of her hard work and I cannot wait to see her shine on show day! 🌟

Just because the word PROTEIN is slapped on something doesn't necessarily mean that it's "healthy."

Make sure you have all the facts on your drinks and foods before you call it healthy.

It may have extra protein, but it might also have a lot of extra sugar, fat, & carbs (not the good kind).
