Stop tearing yourself down if you want to make progress.

Comparing your body to others isn't helping.

You don't know the story behind their journey.

Genetics, age, & lifestyle all play a role in what happens to your body.

Stop beating yourself up over 2 extra lbs on the scale.

Stop speaking out about the things you dislike about yourself.

We all start somewhere, and we all go through ups and downs.

Tearing yourself down only leads to self destruction.

Focus on the things you LOVE about yourself.

Are you stronger now?

Can you keep up with your kids or grandkids now?

Then you are on the right track!

Changes are happening in your body, even if you think you can't see them physically.

Keep going, stay positive, and the results will come!

Not every day is easy.

I workout 5 days a week now & no matter how unmotivated I feel some days, I know that if I don't workout, I will regret it.

However, it took YEARS of starting and stopping, failing, & overcoming weaknesses to create this kind of discipline.

I didn't just flip a switch and instantly start working out 5-6 days a week.

I started with 2-3 days of workout DVDs at home & walking.

Even when I was ready to step up my game, I didn't want to strength train in a gym.

So, I started taking SkyFit classes at SkyZone.

I did that until the pandemic forced me to stop and I went back to my workouts at home + walking.

That was the one thing keeping me sane, especially when my daddy was sick and it wasn't safe to visit him, then he eventually passed away.

Then exercise became an outlet for my grief.

When I was sad or angry about losing him, I walked or did a kickboxing workout.

I even remember running in the rain one day. And I HATE running. But it helped.

That outlet turned into a passion that later became a new career path.

So, yes, nowadays, I NEED my workouts, but once upon a time I struggled just as much as some of you do.

You have to find the reason that gets you moving and keeps you going.

It might take weeks, months, or even years, but it will come.

Here is the thing you didn't know about training with me:

I train clients of all ages, from 16-60(ish).

There is no age limit on exercising.

It is never too late to get started.

And, honestly, I love working with people of all ages.

But what you need to know is that my workouts will always be tailored to your specific goals.

A 60 year old, with past injuries, who is coming to keep their strength up, as they age, will not be doing the same workouts as a teenage athlete that's coming to build strength and improve their athleticism.

My favorite part about training such a wide variety of humans is seeing each individual 's progress unfold right before my eyes.

I can't explain the excitement I feel when a client goes from only being able to lift 5 lbs on week 1 of a workout to lifting 15 lbs by week 6.

Or the joy it brings me when a client struggles so much with an exercise on week 1, that they want to ask to have it removed, but they keep trying and have it nailed by week 6.

Pushing my clients to reach their goals is what keeps me going.

Don't be afraid to share YOUR journey!

You never know who you will inspire.

You never know who might be going through the same thing, but is feeling like a phoney, and seeking validation.

Even if they never say a word to you.

Some people appreciate your courage in silence.

So, if you're seeing my posts and feeling encouraged, inspired, or motivated, in silence, I see you and I thank you.

Keep going.

I hope that some day you will have the strength to share your own journey with the world, so that you can also be an inspiration to others.

👙The quickest way to get in a workout on a lazy pool day:

💥Poolside Plyometrics Circuit:

🔥30 seconds on each move, go back to the beginning, repeat. Perform the circuit 3 times total.

1️⃣Jumping Lunges
2️⃣Frog Hops
3️⃣Skaters
4️⃣Star Jacks

💥Be careful not to slam down flat on your feet with jumping moves.

💥High impact jumping moves are not recommended if you have any type of knee injury/pain.

I feel the need for a sweet treat after each meal, but I opt for healthy alternatives over the traditional desserts.

What if I told you that work/life balance isn't real?

Well, it's not realistic on a daily basis.

And because it's Monday, most likely work will win today.

& that's ok.

Working out, before everything else takes over, is essential for me to have a successful day.

But, if that's not ideal for you, that's ok, too.

Just remember to move at some point today, even if it's just walking or stretching.

Don't let Monday win.
