Some days my clients might come in pumped and ready to crush that workout.

But then there are days that they just can't do it.

Life is lifing (as one of them often says!) and their emotions have gotten the best of them.

And if they come into a session & ask me if we can just talk, I am always here to listen.

I can see what their minds & bodies truly need & I give it to them.

Ladies, I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

Life after 40 is TOUGH.

All of those perimenopause symptoms are hitting HARD.

And that doesn't help with weight loss or staying active.

So here's my secret: you are not alone!

Some days, I sit on my couch crocheting more than I should.

Yes, I still get my workout in, but I'm also paying for that.

I'm dealing with joint pain that I never had before.

I have ridiculous mood swings. I snap at my loved ones for absolutely no reason at all.

I don't sleep well, I forget words mid-sentence constantly, and I have THE WORST anxiety I think I have ever had in my life.

I show up on here with a smile on my face, but behind that smile, I am struggling.

I keep a positive attitude and keep showing up to help keep you motivated.

But I hear you and I see you.

Every day is hard, but we can get through this together!

Last week I posted about how much I love walking.

And I usually walk on the weekends.

However, it was too nasty outside to walk this weekend, so I went ice skating instead.

I burned a good 200 calories and it certainly brightened my mood!

I am absolutely LOVING these fun new ways to exercise!

I think I would go ice skating every weekend, if I could!

Walking has become an incredible emotional outlet for me.

Lately, I've been walking for 2 miles, and LOVING it.

There's just something about being in the fresh air, listening to upbeat/fun music (or sometimes angry! Depends on my mood & what emotions I'm working through), & moving my body that lifts me up!

I've always loved long walks, but I definitely started using them as more of an outlet for my emotions in 2020, when I lost my daddy.

I remember one day I even ran. In the rain. And I HATE running.

If you see me walking around my neighborhood, 9 x/10, I am working through some kind of emotion.

It's a day to honor a man who did great things.

He is an inspiration to us all to lift each other up, show compassion, & build community.

Happy !

I wear many hats on a daily basis: trainer, mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, caregiver. The list goes on.

But, some days, I need an ACTUAL hat, whether it's a bad hair day or to protect my head from the rain or cold.

I love to wear a hat when I've, maybe, gone one too many days in between hair washes.

A cute cap is the perfect accessory to a cute gym 'fit when you're a trainer, too!
