Bringing the PLH family together around the table to decorate gingerbread cookies is one of the joyful Christmas traditions we shared this season. What a blessing to gather together—and what a sweet treat to enjoy!

Luke 2:10-11

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father:

You have blessed us with days to focus our joy. The anniversary of Your Son’s birth is fast approaching, and we are once again preparing for the day. Help us in the midst of love-born expectations of family, gifts and special memories, to keep vibrant the joy of our salvation born in a Bethlehem manger, the incarnation of our God in the baby Jesus, which cannot be contained by any or all days! In Jesus, Amen!

John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Dear Heavenly Father:

The Scriptures have noticed that your people are peculiar. While some gyrate to a different beat, we shine with a Godly light. Our radiance is not with beaming flawless lives, rather a perfect Lord who has done all things well, including our saving from the darkness of sin and death. Thanks be to Jesus, let us shine that light into the darkness of unbelief, and by your Spirit may many more be led to Your everlasting light! In Jesus, Amen!

Rolling and bowling was on the agenda at Spring Valley Campus! 🎳 Staying active, sharing laughs, and enjoying time together is good for both body and soul.

A special time was shared in our St. James memory care neighborhood as elders and children gathered together—moments filled with love, attention, teaching, and remembrance. 💛

Did you know our intergenerational community includes babies and children as young as 6 weeks old through our on-site daycare and preschool, alongside residents up to 106 years old? What a blessing to live, learn, and grow together. Praise God for this unique model of care alongside Acorns & Oaks Christian Academy.

Psalm 23:1

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Dear Heavenly Father:

We have many modern devices to help us find our way, and yet it seems easier to get lost. Lost from those physical and emotional connections that are important and require time and presence. Life’s many directions seek to push us farther from You, seeking to erode our relationship. Help us move and remove the many distractions and to focus on the blessings we receive from Your hand through your presence and love, and all of it in Your Son, Jesus! Amen.

After losing their father, the Burkett & Green family faced the difficult decision to move their mom, Carolyn, into memory care.

From the moment they walked through the doors of Perry Lutheran Homes, they were met with compassion, prayer, and peace. “Even when we can’t be there,” they shared, “we know Mom is surrounded by people who truly care. That kind of peace is priceless.”

Your generosity helps Perry Lutheran Homes continue shining Christ’s light through faith, love, and care that bring comfort to residents and peace to families. 🌟

What a blessing to share life and worship with our Acorns & Oaks children. Their Christmas program brought smiles, joy, and a beautiful reminder of God’s love at work in our PLH family. ✨

Thank you, Randy “Doc” McCaulley, for sharing your God-given talent and helping create such a joyful, welcoming atmosphere for this year’s Tour of Homes & Wine Walk. Music, fellowship, and glad hearts filled the room. ✨

What a truly blessed evening at our Spring Valley Tour of Homes & Wine Walk. ❄️✨
As the snow gently fell, it created the perfect backdrop for a night filled with Christmas cheer, meaningful conversation, and joyful connection.

Guests enjoyed wine samplings paired with beautiful charcuterie while touring festively decorated apartments and common spaces. Nearly 110 nativity sets were on display — each one a beautiful reminder of the hope, love, and joy found in the coming of our Savior.

Live Christmas music by Doc McCaulley and the Christ Lutheran Church choir filled the halls and hearts of all who attended, pointing us back to the true reason for the season.

A heartfelt thank you to our Tour of Homes hosts, our tenants, and the many families and friends who joined us — and to our incredible PLH staff who served with happy hearts to make it a night to remember.

Today we want to shine a light on someone who rarely seeks it — our beloved volunteer, Caroline. She’s at Eden Acres nearly every day, known as “Grandma” to staff and a dear friend to residents.

Volunteers like Caroline are the heartbeat of our homes, and we are grateful for the joy and warmth she brings. Caroline, your presence is a true gift this season and always!

If you feel called to volunteer at Perry Lutheran Homes, we’d love to visit with you. Email info@perrylutheranhomes.org to learn more.
