Let’s Talk Broken Capillaries

Broken capillaries (telangiectasia) are small, dilated blood vessels—appearing as fine red, purple, or blue lines—commonly found on the face, nose, and cheeks. They are caused by sun damage, aging, rosacea, injury, or extreme temperature changes, resulting in a permanent, non-threatening, but cosmetic concern.

Key Aspects of Broken Capillaries

* Causes & Risk Factors: Primarily driven by sun exposure, which weakens vessels, and aging, which thins the skin. Other factors include rosacea, intense sneezing/vomiting, smoking, drinking alcohol, pregnancy, health conditions, and injuries.
* Symptoms: Visible, thin spider-like veins (often called spider veins) on the face or legs. They may sometimes cause a mild burning or stinging sensation, particularly if associated with rosacea.
* Treatment: Professional treatments include IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and vascular lasers, which can make them disappear almost instantly.
* Prevention: Use daily sunscreen (SPF 30+), avoid hot water on the face, minimize alcohol/smoking, and use gentle skincare to prevent damaging delicate skin. Broken Capillaries can be treated, but if left untreated they do not fade or go away on their own, they are permanent.

Let’s Talk Skin Tags 🏷️

Skin tags (acrochordons) are common, benign, and painless small skin growths—usually skin-colored or brown—that hang from a thin stalk, commonly appearing on the neck, armpits, eyelids, or groin due to friction. Both Men and Women can get Skin Tags. They are often linked to age, obesity, diabetes, or hormonal changes (e.g., pregnancy). While generally harmless, they can be removed by a licensed medical professional for cosmetic reasons or irritation.

There are many effective treatments topical and different procedures but the most effective procedure for skin irregularities is the Skin Classic Treatment.

At SKINfinity Studio I have the ability and knowledge to help you with your skin, treat many skin issues along with Certain Skin Irregularities like Skin Tags.

Important Information:
* Never remove at home: DIY removal can cause infection, pain, and scarring.
* Dermatologist check: If a skin tag changes color, grows, or causes pain, have it evaluated to ensure it is not a more serious, non-cancerous growth. Always make sure you are wearing your SPF/ Sunscreen Daily for your skins protection, make sure you are having yearly skin checks with your Dermatologist, and if you ever see something on your skin that doesn’t look right, has changed in size, color, can be itchy/ burning or you have questions make sure you call your skincare professional or see your Dermatologist for further testing/treatment.

Let’s Talk Cherry Angiomas 🍒

Cherry angiomas are very common, harmless, non-cancerous skin growths made of clusters of capillaries, typically appearing as small, bright red, or purplish, smooth, and slightly raised dome-shaped bumps (1-5 mm). They are common in adults over 30, often increasing in number with age, and are usually found on the trunk, arms, and legs. While generally asymptomatic, they can sometimes bleed if scratched.

Let’s Talk Sebaceous Hyperplasia

Sebaceous hyperplasia is the name for a condition where glands in your skin (sebaceous glands) get bigger, forming small bumps.

What does sebaceous hyperplasia look like?

Sebaceous hyperplasia looks like small bumps (about 3 millimeters or mm, usually ranging from 2 mm to 6 mm). They’re usually skin-colored, yellow or brown with a little dent in the center.
Sebaceous hyperplasia can occur anywhere on your body, but is most common on your:

* Cheeks.
* Chin.
* Forehead.
* Nose.
* Upper trunk (chest)

Sebaceous Hyperplasia can form on a man or women’s skin. It is caused by hormonal changes and likely form after the age of 40!

Risk factors for sebaceous hyperplasia (SH) include aging (especially after 40), hormonal changes (like increased androgens), fair skin, a family history (genetics), significant sun damage, and certain medications (like cyclosporine) or rare syndromes, all leading to enlarged, oil-producing glands, though newborns can also experience it due to maternal hormones.

How do we treat this Condition?

Let’s talk Milia: Do you have issues with Milia or know someone that does?

What is Milia?

Milia (milk spots) are small, white cysts on your skin. Cysts are filled pockets under the surface of your skin. The most common place to find milia are on your face. Milia are harmless and only affect your appearance.

Many will see these around their forehead or eye area. Milia is caused by over sebum/oil production. Many people try to pop or extract these at home causing trauma, scarring and even broken Cappillaries due to the trama and treating at home. Please do not attempt to treat this issue at home, call your skin care professional to treat this properly so no future damage can be caused.

Our Story

I am a Licensed Aesthetician/ Dermaplaning Specialist with Hello Beautiful Salon and Spa in Perry, GA. A little about me: I am from the small town of perry, Born and raised. I love our little perry town and seeing someone I know everywhere I go. I have been married for over 15 years with a 7 year old son, a cat named pickles and 2 dogs gabbie and sophie. My son is a model/actor and is signed with an agency in Atlanta. He keeps me on my toes, but he is my heart! I treasure my family, friends, and my church family (Church in the Park is amazing). I love meeting new people, learning new things, the ocean soothes my soul and music is something I can’t live without. I love GA Bulldogs Football, and Christmas is my favorite holiday.

About my business: I have been a licensed Aesthetician/skincare practitioner for over 2 years. I began my career working in a medical office where I worked as a medical assistant and an aesthetician and then opened my own business in the fall of 2018 Beautiful Skin By Kim Stuckey. In January of 2020 I rebranded and My Skincare Studio became SKINfinity Studio so I can reach & help more people. I enjoy meeting new clients, helping educate my clients on their skin, and learning new services I can offer my clients. I have over 9 certifications since I graduated and adding more. I offer a variety of services.
